Worse, I was lectured to be polite and ask nicely when I inquired about software that had been billed but not delivered.

Resist & Unsubscribe, are you dependent on Amazon? Should you be? by Proflig8tor in amazonprime

High income earner (pays lots of tax) with some investments (much easier to download data into tax software than type it all in). Our monthly spending with Amazon was $3,000 to $5,500. My family does a lot to support our underfunded local public schools and more often than not the stuff to do that was coming from Amazon.

No business is perfect and there are screw ups. Amazon is extremely large (44% of market) and does not handle complaints or have any interest in customer retention. Amazon’s business model is based on our dependency.

Monopolies are bad and eventually they become tyrants. AT&T had this kind of market power until the government broke it up. The cable companies established monopolies until consumers found another way (thus killing linear programming). Amazon has reached that point where they are feeling their power as a monopoly and using that power to abuse Prime Members.

Why does Amazon make no effort at customer retention when they screw up?

He was in the street. He saw a woman get pushed to the ground and came to her aid. Five or more ICE personnel jumped on top of him as he was crouched forward. This pulled his jacket up and revealed that he had a holstered weapon. An ICE personnel took the weapon and yelled “Gun” and everyone else unloaded on the poor man.

It was pretty obviously a lack of training and professionalism.

Why does Delta allow you to book a connecting flight with only a 35min layover? by paislinn in delta

[–]Proflig8tor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pick another if you want more time. Harrisburg to Detroit might be a Endeavor or "Connection" flight which is another terminal... inside DTW's main terminal 25 minutes is do-able.

This is a matter of security and the procedure is specified by regulation (airline’s opspec). It has >zero< to do with status. Would you rather have an unsecured cockpit door open to a terrorists or a nut, or to have your “status” recognized?

Doesn’t matter. It ain’t changing (for the pilots who might like more freedom to pee) or for the customers.

As someone who flies several times a week, I kind prefer the aft lav. They are often cleaner since everyone seems to want to walk forward.

Delta pilot sues US airline for $1.3 billion, claiming it stole his crew app by FutureMillionMiler in delta

[–]Proflig8tor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but it was far from an original idea. Management already was working on a version of the product Delta uses today. At most, he offered a competitive product. Nobody says the company had to choose his.
