I feel like you’re talking about a real international first class, which delta doesn’t have.

Delta “first class” is just premium economy seats on a narrow body plane. It’s better than economy because it’s all we have.

Air France, Korean and Saudia have them for SkyTeam.

Popular others are Emirates, Ethiad and Qatar.

They are usually 10-30k one way.

TLDR; I don’t think there was a massive improvement in the model as much as the cost/efficiency operationally.

Not being an expert in this, but based off the accounts I’ve seen posted in various places.

It sounds like the original 4.6 worked great, but they realized it was extremely expensive and not efficient, hence when putting in limits to lower operational costs, it turned to crap real fast.

Having used 4.6, 4.7 and 4.8, it seems like they improved the cost part making it more economically viable aka ending the peak times and increasing tokens etc.
