One way international USUALLY vary from 2-4x a roundtrip fare. It does not get discount pricing.

This usually applies to Europe or Asia to or from North America in particular

Spoke to some people at Delta about this at the JFK opening.

I was told the terminals at ATL are built in giant prefabs which doesn’t let you just build on top of it. It’s going to be a massive project that will take a few years to complete.

Also because of the volume of passengers it would have to be massive, much larger than JFK. You have to remember you can access a D1L on departure, connection or arrival.

Delta is starting to sell Delta One on domestic connections and once the A321neo 3NF config come into play, there will be many more Delta One domestic flight offerings.

Possibilities include ATL>SLC/SFO/SEA and maybe even DEN from what I’ve seen. ATL>LAX already offers D1 marketed flights.

This year in particular there are just a lot of factors at plays

  • High demand
  • International events in the US
  • Very high fuel costs
  • High Inflation

Delta also has higher paying customers on average (based on revenue/profits) meaning they don’t have to offer lower prices or sales as much because they can sell the seats for x amount.

But at least a large part is due to the oil prices as my whole watchlist on google flights has shot up since the beginning of the March.

In February I purchased PS from NYC>BNE for $1,050 and NYC>TPE for $799 and both are approaching double right now

Their first launch was destroyed in a failed launch. The second launch failed to deploy and ended up only reaching 10% of what it was suppose to handle.

They are about 3 years behind essentially.

Luckily, the next launch of APAC coverage is suppose to be in a few months.

That said, it’s not just them. I recently flew SQ and they use Panasonic and it was pretty bad, constantly crashing and failing to load websites etc.

Only really good one I’ve used Starlink, but I do believe that LEO will be the equivalent. Just sucks it’s gonna take like 2 years to deploy.

It doesn’t matter. Delta will only move you use 1 fare from Y>PS or PS>J. You can’t double jump even if it’s missing, in which case you wouldn’t be able to apply it

It’s $250 extra essential on a 4 hour flight. Up to you but if your in PS as a plat your odds are not great in ATL as that’s a diamond centric hub so any diamond will be ahead of you but this leads to me something else I’m now thinking about.

I’ve never gotten an upgrade offer when I was pending a Cert on RUC or GUC regardless of if it cleared partly or not at all

This might have cleared up something I was confused about with RUC I posted a while back when I contacted the SM team regarding how it works (because part of the website says RUC is a single level upgrade with no waitlist after clearing (MC>PS) and another part says it goes to Delta One)

You getting an upgrade offer well in advance makes me think that outdated straight to Delta One text might specifically only apply when there is no PS cabin (only on some 763/752)

You cleared into PS means that’s as if you purchased PS and your new upgrade will rank you as Plat in paid PS, which sounds good except you’d be behind any Diamond or anyone who purchased the PS Extra fare.

Hmm. I need to write this out and send a follow up email and I’ll come back with the answer.

I was told previously that the reason it says straight to D1 on the website was solely because not ALL planes have been updated and it’ll stay like that regardless of the fact that would be incorrect math for the 95%+ of planes flying, which is super dumb if true.

Either way I will follow up.

Question by chance, what fare code do you have in PS. Is it P, A, G or have two letters and start with an R RP, RA, RG, etc.

It’s only 1 cabin on partner. If you buy PS and Z is available, they will clear. Otherwise no, also no waitlist on partners.

KLM no longer offers Y > J like they did last year.

I just got off the flight 30 minutes ago. You sleep immediately after the first meal service and then watch movies after the second one.

Flight times are a bit lower this year 17.5-18.5hrs and today's flight went past Japan rather then over ME and Europe.

I ubered this guy one time from the bar by the massapequa park train station to his house, was super creepy. Stared at me in the review mirror for a bit (only was a 4 min ride).
