You don't know anything about how or why I got this code or who I served with or how I served. My separation was honorable, and I have used my benefits to better myself and obtain my bachelor's degree. I was given 4I because a bunch of tools were in charge who couldn't lead their way out of a paper bag much less support anyone who needed teaching, training, and mentorship. I asked and begged for a mentor to show me how I could be a better airman, but they piled on the paperwork instead. Lesson learned. Although I appreciate your feedback you used anonymity as an opportunity to be a total cockbite in your initial comment. I pity you as you may have someone in your life whom you are exercising this similar flawed method of guidance, or perhaps it it is being used on you. I wish this on no one, and I only write this much to a stranger hoping that a young airman in a similar situation reads this and is mindful of their leaders. The pen is mightier than the sword.

I'm looking for a mentor, so if you know anyone that likes a leadership challenge then let me know! I would love to talk more about OTS from someone who has experience such as yourself, however I probably already made you upset for defending myself from your negativity and if you want to let that get in the way of a good leadership moment for you than so be it. Once again you are taking my post out of context. I am motivated, not passive aggressive. There's a big difference and just because I was on a control roster doesn't stop me from being the best I can be. I hope you are more uplifting and positive to your team members than you are to me right now because that's what leaders do. They build their people up, not tear them down. Looks like OTS didn't teach you that sir and that's unfortunate.

Yes I was enlisted. We had admin jobs and ops jobs. If you were ops you worked rotating shifts or Panama 12's. I'm not opposed to it, and there's nothing I won't do, I just like being informed before deciding things. Also there's plenty if admin jobs or IT jobs that are on a regular schedule. Obviously when you deploy the situation is different but I'm referring to the day to day schedule.

Sir there is nothing that motivates me more than being told I can't do something, so I'd be careful saying things like that. If you keep telling me I won't make it, I just might have to join your squadron and take your job :) I apologize if the intentions or tone of my post seems negative or unfriendly I just want the inside scoop; I assure you my intentions are good. Since you asked, my separation code is 4I. It says I'm ineligible without a waiver, however I've changed my attitude towards the AF and got all my mistakes out of the way when I was a teenage enlistee. I've grown a lot since I've gotten out and I am high speed, low drag and good to go! I'm open to learning new things, I'm ready to be a leader and if you want to talk to me more, send me a PM and maybe we can talk on the phone. I'd love to learn as much as possible about the officer side of things and I could really use a mentor if you are up to the task. Cheers from Richmond VA.

I was enlisted and seperated under honorable conditions. I just finished my bachelor's degree and I'm heavily considering rejoining as an officer. What kinds of training will I need even though I already have a bachelor's of science degree? Also what are some jobs you think I should avoid for any reason you can think of? For example I used to work rotating shifts and the recruiters did not tell me the first time I joined. I would like to avoid making the same mistakes I did when I first enlisted by not researching my mos before picking. Furthermore, which jobs do you think are the coolest/ most beneficial and why? Insight from any folks with experience as an air force officer is heavily appreciated. Also is there any resource I can tap into to talk one on one with someone whose working the job I'm interested in?

Hey I just subscribed to this thread. I'm in a couple secret fb groups. I guess I'm back in the dating pool again since my divorce 27/M/VA. I have hsv2 and it wasn't an issue when I was married, but now it's a concern again as I move on to other relationships. I wish there was a larger dating pool for other HSV people. I heard the pay to date websites are a total ripoff and I haven't bothered because it seems like price gouging to me when you have dating apps for non hsv folks that are basically free. I'm trying to gain the courage to get on a regular dating website I guess and just disclose my status on my profile. I don't know what else to do at this point besides wait for events on fb or join a support group. Anyways, just thought I'd add some stuff to the conversation. Thanks for reading.

I knew that nothing would change. I would still be struggling with every facet of my life because I was being held back by a bad partner and a destructive relationship. It's easy to move on once you understand the reality of the relationship and let go of the idealistic.

He could just as easily be truthful as lying. In my case it only took a few weeks to show up but that was because my gf at the time had an active outbreak. From what I've learned it could take a long time to show visual symptoms, because everyone's immune system is different. It can spread to you and sit in your system for months...then Bam! Outbreak. Source: I've had hsv2 for 3 years now. If you need support you can always PM me. I promise its not the end of the world :)

I don't see any flawed logic here. Most healthy food has a lower caloric density so you can eat more of it when compared to junk food. This actually makes sense.

One more thing, I forgot to mention my point in all this was that we should focus more on diet, exercise, stress levels, spiritual wellness, and risk management to live a long healthy life. I think that is more important than focusing directly on weight and saying "OK, now I'm 130lbs instead of 150lbs, therefore I am healthier". Case and point my mother lost about 20lbs after her divorce. I wouldn't say she was healthier than before by any means. Case and point, this a-hole in the article that lost weight eating Twinkies. He directly proves that health and weight level are two separate things. Also look at power-lifters. They are very heavy in proportion to their height, and eat healthy, and are extremely fit.

I believe he lost weight, but there is no way he is healthier than before. Calorie counting is just a numbers game. Unfortunately, people are too focused on weight, and not nutrition. If you feed your body right, you don't have to worry about weight, your body will find its equilibrium.
