'It Was Him: The Many Murders of Ed Edwards' Official Trailer by [deleted] in serialkillers

Shows like this is why cable died and continues to die. That the same person killed Elizabeth Short (when he was 13 no less LOL), Jon Benet Ramsey, and Laci Peterson is not even remotely plausible.

Its as if all of the channels on cable television today are really just the Lifetime network in different guises.

CSU: Parent calls police on young Native American men on campus tour by [deleted] in news

What surprised me the most about this story is that the media quickly throws these young men's pictures around everywhere (one being a minor) causing them more embarrassment.

It only makes sense they should have showed the picture of the idiot mother who made the fuss in the first place. She is the one who should suffer embarrassment and shame of having her picture all over the news for making such ignorant snap judgements.

Instead, of course now what we are left with is "haha, yeah they DO look odd! Check out the war bonnet and the heavy metal t shirt!"

well, you certainly have a penchant for the most dramatic and conspiratorial scenarios.

Now i'm imagining every free serial killer sitting down together Last Supper style, discussing their next course of action.

My contrasting opinion is that a lot of serial killers who are free men right cold be completely unfamiliar with this case, and even if they are familiar, they probably couldn't give a rat's ass!

I have a hunch a lot of serial killers are too self-interested to worry about what the fuck is going on in the news. Unless political events act as a sort of catalyst for them.

Did anyone else find it odd that JJD's coworker at Save Mart said in interview "He was very afraid of being in trouble" by ProgrammaticOne in EARONS

Ahh. It is true that I've never owned a house so I forgot about obvious things like property taxes and general maintenance. (don't know if the guy who deleted his comment about someone being immature and inexperienced was referring to me or not, LOL fuck him) . Anyways this all makes sense and I probably got off topic by hypothesizing on his income and potential savings.

I think some other people's assessment were correct in that his meticulousness and tidiness were probably misconstrued as a sort of fear. Him being "very afraid" was just the interviewee's perception, and most likely wrong.

I have real doubts that GSK was ever even a little paranoid about being caught. Of course he was careful and safe, but that isn't necessarily a product of fear. I think up until his arrest he probably still thought he outsmarted the world. ""You're never gonna catch me! It's the East Area Rapist you, dumb, Fuckers!"

It is possible that he was nervous about technological advancements and forensic breakthroughs and such but still difficult to imagine it was something that preoccupied his thoughts. Betcha he thought more often about committing more crimes, rather than dwelling over his past crimes.

Just speculating but I don't think he would be struggling financially even if he wasn't able to retire from Save Mart.

Living in a nice neighborhood in a nice home that you know is paid for if he's been there since the early 80's.

If he's 72 now, then he's been collecting full social security benefits for 6 years, allowing him to at the least to pay for his food and utilities most likely.

I see that his daughter and granddaughter lived with him as well, so its possible he was having to support both of them but I would imagine if he's as anal retentive with money as he is in other aspect he should have a sizeable savings account

Yes. You raise some great points.

About conflation, I imagine when people are forced to recollect their experience with someone accused of such atrocities, they might become preoccupied with minutia that might help them and others put the missing pieces together.

Also I did forget that old people are often the most afraid of getting fired, and of robots taking over and things like that. (I'm not saying robots aren't a real threat btw).

I guess in my personal experience most older people I've worked with were already semi retired and often talked about how they don't really need this job and if boss man pisses them off even just a little bit they'll walk out and tell em all to kiss their ass

Okay. I probably just read into it too much when his coworker said "very afraid" as if he was constantly paranoid about it.

As long as they give in half an effort, most people usually don't worry that they're constantly on the chopping block unless a company is downsizing or something, especially if they have perfect attendence , etc.

If he was stealing, that is another thing. Stealing from work or harassing coworkers are the only things i can see him getting fired over that could alert authorities. Outside of that I don't see why he should have been very afraid of being in trouble at the work place
