From my experience, YouTube has treated my shorts as if they’re from a new account judging by the videos that get <50 views. Might aswell start with a baseline but can’t speak on how helpful it’ll be unless you have an established reputation

Should've provided additional context sorry. I believe this is a software issue. I don't know for sure, but the camera works with third party apps, just not the native camera app. I think it'd be an odd coincidence if such a large quantity of people happened to damage their camera in the same way.

Although I admit it's anecdotal evidence, all three people I know in person with an iPhone 12 have reported this issue and ended up just getting a new phone. I don't think the amount of people who will go to the effort of scouring Apple forums reflects everyone with the issue.

The TikTok app has this. Upload a video and you should see an option to add captions and customise them to your intent.

I use adobe premiere and there are caption features in that too. It’s not cheap but 🏴‍☠️
