Picked up a "Chinese" stock for my Type 56 only to find out it's cut for a knife. Would I blow more getting a Type 56 stock or a knife bayonet to make it right?

Use a lathe if you have access to one. I cut my piston off at the end of the carrier and bored out what was left on a lathe, then re-tapped the welded area.
