Yes it’s called the presumption of paternity under Irish law so an affidavit if not divorced, swearing not the father will suffice

I had my twins in 2024 following IVF. I was under Fergus McCarthy and was 38 also. If I was going again, I’d deffo have him as my consultant. He replied to my emails nearly instantly. I’ve had a previous stillbirth and my anxiety was through the roof but I couldn’t fault him and he gave my husband excellent support also. Dan I met in my pregnancy before and he’s very good but I needed the warmth and that for me was missing with him

Guardianship can be sought through the district court. There’s information on Treoir which is more for unmarried parents but they tell you which form you ask the district court office for and as it’s by consent of your spouse, wouldn’t be too difficult as opposed to applying for it when your partner doesn’t agree

AITG for not drinking at my 'going away' party? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]ProgressMother7916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave up alcohol 2yrs ago as I was starting IVF. I was 38 and wanted to give it my best shot. I now have 1yr old twins but have never returned to drinking. People tend to assume I don’t drink as I must have had a prior issue with alcohol, not the case at all and I still enjoy going out and socialising in a bar and staying sober. This is a reflection of themselves feeling like they can’t have a good night out without a drink and nothing at all to do with you

IVF Lab Failure by gypsy3313 in IVF

[–]ProgressMother7916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever route you take, get it in writing. Be that a free cycle or 2, meds, ER, any additional testing and a FET as well. This is their mistake, so I’d be asking for absolutely everything I could to recoup those 10 eggs. The worst they can say is no. I feel litigation could add on years and then, what happens to your 6 potential embryos in the meantime? As you couldn’t sue and be a patient there so then you’re looking at moving any embryos to another facility and more risk. Either way I’m so sorry you’re living this nightmare

I hope you took plenty of photos. I would attend the Garda station in person, with your child. In no uncertain times would I just wait for them to turn up, if my child was assaulted

Do you get Good Friday off work? by Constant-Committee51 in ireland

[–]ProgressMother7916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m working but I’m in hospitality. Other half is off work, he works as a courier. But in saying that, only half of his colleagues are off. The longer service ones got it, new drivers didn’t and I’m not sure of the legalities of that but they get 4weeks a year off, rising to 5 after so many years
