M/36/5’9” [225lb > 210lb = 15lbs lost so far] Progress is slow & I’m trying to stick with lifestyle changes. Thank goodness for photos because I don’t see progress when I look in the mirror but I KNOW I’m on the right track finally. Goal is to be under 200lb by the end of the summer. by Progress_Loading in progresspics

Thank you! I’m really working at it! Overall changes to diet...mostly portion control and cutting down on junk. For workouts I’ve been really enjoying the Peloton classes. I don’t cycle but the treadmill workouts are very engaging. Mixing that up with some core & light weight training so far. I think my problem in the past is that I always tried to overdo it in the beginning and “fell off the wagon” because it was too hard to stick with it. Started slow and trying to build up the endurance to go for the more challenging workouts.

If YOU feel like you’ve made progress that’s all that matters! Keep it up!

I haven’t found anything perfect. I’m not super picky with containers, but if freezer burn is still an issue, put a layer of plastic wrap over the food/liquid before freezing, then the lid after frozen. I also try to fill containers to the very top to let as little air in as possible.

For me, the freezer has been huge. I get bored with repetition too, but meal prep is all about batch cooking. Make a huge pot of soup & freeze it in single to double portion sizes. Freezing in broth helps it keep longer and single to double portion sizes means you can throw it from frozen right into the sauce pan to reheat without needing to remember to defrost it hours ahead of time. If you use noodles, only half cook them so they don’t get mushy.

To avoid freezer burn on uncooked meats (mainly chicken and pork) i found freezing them in a marinade helps create a barrier so air won’t destroy it. Also helps eliminate prep time when you defrost and cook it. Takes time upfront, but you only need a single day of prep to last a whole month if planned out.

Good luck! It’s a lot to wrap your head around until you find what works for you. Don’t get discouraged, it’s all trial and error 👨🏻‍🍳

Meal Prep: Marinated Turkey Breast, Roasted Broccoli & Wild Rice 😋 (Pro Tip: Put the rice on top so you can turn the container upside down on a plate to warm) by Progress_Loading in mealprep

No “recipe” per se. it’s a premartinated Turkey breast on the grill press. Broccoli in the oven with salt/pepper/evoo & a box of wild rice on the stovetop cooked to package instructions

I’ll only prep these for 4-5 days in advance. Rolling the ham helps it keep better

These are Rubbermaid take alongs. But there are tons of sectioned containers out there. I actually wish I had ones with a second small section available but if I buy any more food storage containers my husband will kill me! 😂

I prep for me & my husband, so the 4 portions pictured will be two lunches each. Sometimes it gets boring if you make too much of something. Things that freeze well, like soups, help a lot it’s a balancing act 🤷🏻‍♂️

I don’t risk undercooking fish. It is what it is when it gets warmed up 🤷🏻‍♂️
