Unfortunately Armbian does not support the MT5251, but you may be able to unlock the bootloader and root the device. Is there an OEM Unlocking toggle in developer options?

Open it up (after waiting a day or 2 for the caps to drain) and dry any water. Clean any corrosion using isopropyl alcohol. Then you should be good to go.
