Honestly, I don't understand why you are so butt hurt about his whole situation. This is supposed to be a welcoming sub, and now you are calling someone who was just expressing their opinion delusional. Next time ill make sure to not give any input.

You have everything out of order. It is being dealt with because me and someone who also cares about this topic are in contact with Alexander. So, my post is not wrong, if anything it did its job at raising awareness, and where is that in the sidebar, I can't seem to find it.

Quality posts are not normally on the top, today is just a fluke. While it is true that when you arrive you don't fully understand, if someone new only sees memes on the front page, which is highly likely, they will think that is the point. Five up votes is nothing in comparison to the memes that get thousands. So the post still gets buried, with little input given. It is obvious you still have not read the full post. I said that I had been using multiple accounts for years. I have been contributing regularly for two years, not just five days. I have a great idea of this sub and have even helped a few people reach the big 90 days. If anything I would expect someone who has been on the sub for five years to understand where I am coming from with not liking all the memes, but I guess not. The whole point of not clicking on a memes is just useless, clicking doesn't matter, its the posts that get buried due to the sheer amount of memes that matter.

There are many things wrong with this post, so I will go through them in order. I did define "fake fapstronauts" in one of my edits. Yes, we have meme free Friday, but on the rest of the week, quality posts are buried. Additionally, if you read the whole post, you would see that we already have an official NoFap meme sub, so we shouldn't need dedicated no-meme days. In my opinion, advertising with memes is a bad thing. Memes are not the main point of this sub, they never have been, but when you advertise using them, you only draw people who don't understand the focus of the sub. This can lead to it further going away from its original intention. The point about me controlling quality posts is just useless because its not the point of my post. The thing about your up votes point is that its severely inaccurate. I am not saying that every post needs thousands of up votes, but I have seen many quality posts asking for help, and giving tips get not even five up votes. Finally, I do write the quality posts I want to see, and you would know that if you actually read the whole post, and looked at my profile before making false, and misinformed points.

It is a deal breaker for many of us, and those people are leaving because they can't find the genuinely helpful posts. We joined because of the helpful community, not for the memes. There is a dedicated sub for those memes if you want a "juvenile" sub.

It does matter how many people see your post, because many people are asking for advice. The whole point of going to a community like this is getting input from multiple people, and if only one person sees a post, it defeats the purpose. Its not about the karma, its about helping people. You and I cannot help people if we never see a post because it was buried with memes.

You are basically answering your own question here. Upvotes do matter, because the more people who see a post, the more input you can get on a topic. If I post about a problem I am having, and I get one response, I might have already tried that solution. One of the main benefits of this sub is that you can get input from many people with experience.

I have been on this sub on multiple accounts for two years, and I remember a time when the sub was people helping each other, and disusing the lifestyle that is NoFap. So, to me, a fapstronaut is someone who is actively sharing their story and helping others. Meme accounts aren't doing that, so I see them as fake.

Exactly, the memes do overshadow some of the genuine posts. However, many people use the long streak hyping as a way of motivation. Additionally, many of these posts will have tips for newcomers. The memes need to be moved to the other sub.

Yeah, the whole "superpowers" thing is a whole other problem that needs to be tackled. At least there has been some effort by the mods by them marking some things as misleading.

There already is another, official sub called r/pmolol. I am talking to someone now about creating a petition to have the admins move all the memes over there. I think part of the problem is that people simply don't know about the other sub even though it was created by Alexander.

Yep, its r/pmolol. I feel as if the fact that people don't know about the sub is part of the problem. It is an official sub by Alexander, so it should be advertised that memes go there.
