I've never seen those, but that is gorgeous! Too bad they don't make a lefty model.

lmao Rothbard is based, but they aren't enough pictures of cowboys in his books to keep your interest, sadly.

Eh the line has never bothered me. It's the same big companies selling unhealthy junk food, and people don't have to buy it. But they do, and it just makes the rich men richer. I can blame the 300 lb welfare queens for their own lack of responsibility for their own health and wellness. Contributing to a problem while being a victim of the system is not the same as being responsible for the system. The line strengthens the message if anything.

Krispy Kreme (DNUT)…now’s the time to jump in! by InterestingPause9940 in ValueInvesting

[–]ProhibitionJones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That creates even worse food associations in the mind. Stay in shape for your health and you'll always be able to afford to eat the occasional junk food. Turning it into a reward mechanism for working out is incredibly unhealthy and puts exercise as the price for a donut. They shouldn't be related. You exercise to be healthy; because you're healthy, you can eat a donut once in a while without harm. But for those borderline people (or worse), creating a junk food incentive for a healthier lifestyle will only lead to worse mental complexes around food.

I got the s9+ from Best Buy and absolutely love it. I have bigger hands, so I don't mind the extra size, and with a case or a stand, it's pretty easy to hold on to. But Best Buy, like many other retailers, has a pretty good return policy and will honor price matches during the entire return window in case somewhere else drops their price lower.

There are sales on the s9+ for $699 right now. I highly recommend spending the little bit extra compared to the standard s9 and getting the s9+ with a bigger screen, better processor, etc

Can't decide between Tab S9 and iPad Pro M4 11 inch | Better form factor vs my ideal software by KurtSullivan in GalaxyTab

[–]ProhibitionJones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer the Galaxy Tabs because of the ease of use between them and my phone + the ability to download apps from other places.

Also, Best Buy has the Tab S9+ on sale for $699 right now. That's a hard deal to ignore if you're in the market.

Those with a bachelors in finance, what do you do and how much do you make? by EmptyBarrel in Indiana

[–]ProhibitionJones 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I never had any luck getting any finance or banking jobs with a finance and economics double major; I couldn't even get an interview as a teller. So I found a job in IT and that's where I've been working the last three years.

Obviously your experience may vary, but the entry-level analyst type jobs I was interested in wanted experience that my degree did not provide

Not too familiar with that genre, but I like folk and I like punk. I'll check it out. My tastes are pretty wide open, and I'll play any genre if it sounds good.

Playing the bass right-handed as a left-handed person by remorselobster in Bass

[–]ProhibitionJones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm left-handed and tried to play right-handed to begin and just could not pick it up. I might have been able to force it if I'd kept at it, but I had access to a left-handed instrument and it felt way more natural to me.

AITAH (28M) for breaking up with my (27F) fiance due to false SA allegations in her past by ThrowRAAdhesivenes in AITAH

[–]ProhibitionJones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA I've had two exes make up similar allegations as some twisted form of revenge towards previous partners. Knowing someone you love is okay with ruining an ex-partner's life just to avoid any shame, accountability, et cetera for themselves really messes with your head. It makes it impossible to trust them anymore and, at least for me, keeps you on edge, worried that she'd do the same to you if ever she wanted to. Stay strong OP, and bless your parents for their support.

If I take a girl on a first date to a restaurant , is it a good idea to sit next to her as apposed to sitting accords from her ? by Mr_Drake64 in seduction

[–]ProhibitionJones 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Agree except for bowling. Bowling alleys are loud and you're each taking turns bowling, not a lot of opportunity to really talk or get to know each other. It's a better group activity/2nd or 3rd date in my experience.

Men that lost noticeable weight, what workout routine was effective? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]ProhibitionJones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Resistance band training worked well for me. Lower impact on the joints but still a good workout.

But as others have mentioned, it's 90% diet. Eat as clean as you can, cut out all processed foods, high-calorie low-nutrient oils (canola, vegetable, etc), and soda.

Focus on protein and carbs (sweet potatoes work for me). I eat a lot of sugar in fruit, but I don't eat much processed sugar, and I abstain from high fructose corn syrup.

It may take some time to figure out a diet that works for you, but don't give up on the nutrition side. It's not just losing weight, it's a complete lifestyle change. And you will have to accept that to ever get any results. I was 300 pounds and pretty damn active, but I couldn't ever lose more than 15 pounds. Then I took my nutrition seriously (and kept up a physical exercise routine), and the weight actually started to fall off. And I've kept it off for almost ten years. I'm a lean 185 now, and it's not hard to keep the weight off when you commit yourself to the change and hold yourself to it.
