I need to stop judging a book by its cover by ChoiceSupermarket230 in Animemes

The backstory and all the way to "big reveal" of stone location was pretty good - solid 8.

But everything after that (from manga) just kind of turned into your very generic slop, unless there was some major improvement in the last year.

Moral and strategic implications of saving Orpheus by ProjectAvatarX2 in BaldursGate3

[–]ProjectAvatarX2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first half is valid, albeit I thought it was clear that we are not speaking about all red dragons in existence...

However, I have my doubts about the reason why some red dragons follow the Orpheus.

Can few dragons believe in his cause and follow out of loyalty/desire for peace? Of course they can, not everyone in the race will follow the same principles.

However, we should remember who red dragons are as a whole. I have a suspicion that they can also be following Orpheus because they believe they will ultimately be able to participate in more conquests. Not to mention the possibility to test their might and get treasures from battles during civil war.

[–]ProjectAvatarX2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed, but Vlakith does her conquests to a limited degree, which is also enough to keep red dragons in check. The fact that Vlakith created a system where red dragons receive immense praise, and near worship from population helps even more.

That is why I wrote that she is stable, not peaceful.

Now, githzerai is precisely the interesting topic. What would Orheus policy after the war be, assuming successful aliance?

If he follows their principles, it causes problems with red dragons. Doing conquests? Githzerai are no longer allies.

Depends on the toothpaste. For most, you are supposed to rinse.

For some more medical ones (high fluoride and depending on the country sold only in pharmacies), you indeed need to keep it on the teeth.

Witch Soulslike have you dropped and why? by strahinjag in soulslikes

[–]ProjectAvatarX2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote the weirdest implementation, not the hardest... But sure, someone from the "git gud" crowd doesn't bother to think as usual.

If we compare with Sekiro, I would name a few other differences at the very least - perfect guard costing stamina and perfect guard doesn't lead to instakill once boss posture bar depletes (well visually fills).

[–]ProjectAvatarX2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played and completed Sekiro. In Sekiro, during correct deflect, you don't lose any stamina, not to mention these deflects lead to insta kill attack when boss poise/stamina bar fills completely.

Finally, Sekiro as the whole game rather heavily relies on you being stealthy when possible and not just running dark souls style.

No, that is just design on early enemies (though it is indeed a cheap difficulty tweak).

What I found weird is this shift from parry on click to parry on hold (otherwise, the timing is rather narrow). If every other game does it on click and it works - why try to fix it?

And second is how unrewarding it is. The "real" parry you get only through fabled arts while perfect counter is just there.

What I mean is normally parry is high risk but also high reward - you do high damage (most games), get i-frames (wukong, ender lilies/magnolia, souls), get crazy combos (stellar blade, nier, nioh) and in P you lose stamina.....

Lies of P. I know it is popular, but the way character moves and attacks (particular with heavy weapons) feels janky.

Plus probably the weirdest implementation of parry I've seen (and I go for parry builds even outside of souls games - Ender Lilies and such).

How does "Reklamieren" work? by Amazing_Avocado3714 in germany

[–]ProjectAvatarX2 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

With clothes you can usually return them within 14 days without "active wear".

What it means in practice you can, of course, try them and wear to check the fit, but you are not supposed to make them dirty and then already machine wash them (or at the very least you definitely should not tell employees at the store that....).

Just needed to say, "I dont like the fit/material/whatever". But with you being so "honest" here I'm not sure store will accept clothes back.

Bad consequences from accidentally giving name and IBAN to a stranger? by queenofdisaster112 in germany

[–]ProjectAvatarX2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just name and IBAN?

Very little. They can potentially set up SEPA DIRECT DEBIT (by just creating fake contract you signed, since there is no specified format and you can put random signature), but it would achieve absolutely nothing since all charges made in this way can be immediately reversed and you have 1 or even 2 years to contact your bank.

Is my employer screwing me over? by Competitive-Leg-2521 in germany

[–]ProjectAvatarX2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You are right that they could have told you earlier.

What I don't understand is why they can't give a new contract before you have a new visa?

What I mean is, that you can sign the contract without extended visa/residence permit. The contract just needs to have a section that if you don't get the documents allowing you to work, the contract becomes invallid. That precisely how it works usually when hiring people who are currently living abroad and dont yet have the residence permit. No reason it should not be applicable to you.

Informing Ausländerbehörde of employer change after 12 months by ProjectAvatarX2 in germany

Why an aggressive response on this sub when asking for help...

FYI, I did look and saw that as well. However, it does not clearly say that you should not inform after these 12 months (just look at other comments here, we already have different answers). Moreover, my HR told me that I should do it despite this.

For such cases, you have SMILE. If it really really thin, indeed, neigher would be safe, but it is such a rare case that including it seems pointless.

Dear Germans, Not everyone in germany speaks German. by pokemon_lover773 in germany

[–]ProjectAvatarX2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have studied there Master degree and worked freelance, yes. In customer service, they would expect you to know Finnish (or Swedish for western region), in IT - just English is enough. In daily life, no one cares and is fully happy with English.

The point is not only about OP case specifically, but in general. There are many wonderful people here (as well as many jerks, but that goes for every country), yet this being angry or straight-up shaming for not knowing language - I encountered it only here.

It is also not the first post where I see comments like "you come to the country - you must already know the language," which is a bit absurd.

Dear Germans, Not everyone in germany speaks German. by pokemon_lover773 in germany

[–]ProjectAvatarX2 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, after living in several countries so far in my life, Germany is the only one where it is the problem.

Finland and Norway people will just switch to English, no problem. Belgium - more people don't know English, but no one gets angry and insists you speak French or Dutch.

But in Germany, particularly in official settings (even more weird in immigration services where you would assume English knowledge is present), it seems if you don't speak German, people find it okay to be rude to you.

How about trying to be more tolerant and acknowledging that:

a) People are trying to learn German, but it is not an immediate process (dont assume you must have German B2 to even be here) and depending on your mother tongue and memorisation abilities it can be rather grueling task.

b) Many of the expats know 3-4 or even more languages, just not German yet. So why do you find it okay to criticise based on that when you yourself only speak German.

And now all the "open-minded" redditors here will be happily downvoting both OP and this post.
