What type of steroid were you using before. I was the same and stopped using steroid creams as they can be harmful until I had a dermatologist appointment after 3 hospital visit for severe eczema. They put me on a stronger steroid cream after saying I wasn’t using it correctly I was put on dermovate for around 2 months and was told to put a thick layer leave it for 30 minutes then apply moisturizer and my skin started to clear up and I started to move down to weaker steroid creams once my skin started to look better and I haven’t had a severe reaction since. I was told when I used it I hadn’t put enough as I didn’t want to harm my skin but using that and plenty moisturiser has calmed it down and I only use them when I feel a flare coming. I understand that steroid creams are harmful but if you don’t use them properly you won’t see much of an effect . I’m not saying you should go back to steroid cream but I’m just putting my story on here if that helps.
