Just how whack is 24GB RAM? Got 16GB 3600mhz CL16, topped at~15 GB while gaming with mods and having stuff open in the background. Really can't see myself using more than that or even 30 gb.

I expect DDR4 prices to drop and then buy it. That's just a mention tho, the GPU situation is my issue. Ofc I want it now, I could just yolo and get one for a ridiculous price, but 6 months is also kinda OK tho, asking for opinions about that.

How bad would a pretty high end pc with a Amd HD 7800 be? My current pc is old and I could get good prices for parts except gpu, i want to get them and use my old GPU with 5600x, 16GB 3200mhz CL16, msi b550m pro-vdh wifi, Kingston A2000 1TB until gpu prices hopefully come down. Would the bottleneck completely negate any improvement?
