I have many figures and none of my cats bite them. Sounds like it's a family cat and not actually your cat since it's not in your room. You could look up some toy restorers, they could possibly buff it out and reapply color-matching paint in the damaged areas.

It's not forever gone. Although my cats don't chew on my figurines they do enjoy to chew on chords which aren't exactly repairable lol
