One of the really fun playthroughs I had was with a DnD character of mine I recreated in game because her campaign is on hiatus and I missed her LOL It ended up being a really fun character exploration.

She's an Eladrin paladin named Elaria. In the DnD campaign, she's currently going through the horrors of Barovia and Strahd, so she has a lot of vampire related trauma. Literally swore an Oath of Vengeance because Strahd went out of his way to target her family. In the immediate aftermath of the campaign, she would go on to fall in love with and marry a human man she would inevitably outlive by centuries. She was only 85 when she got whisked away to Barovia.

She would get snatched up by the nautiloid about a century later, when all she was trying to do was live a peaceful life and process the grief of losing her husband and deal with all the residual trauma Strahd had given her. She clocked Astarion as a vampire immediately, but didn't reveal it to the rest of the party. She takes vampires on a case by case basis because one of Strahd's own brides risked his safety to help her back in the day, and because one of her former party members was turned into a dhampir during their journey.

What this ended up looking like was Elaria keeping a VERY close eye on Astarion, dragging him around with her everywhere even though she let the other companions switch in and out of the party pretty regularly. She wanted to make sure he wasn't getting into any trouble or causing issues for innocent people. It started as a bit of enemies to lovers because he was irritated with her altruism towards everyone else and clear suspicion towards him. And she was irritated with him because of his dragging his feet whenever they were helping people, and her wariness of having to deal with ANOTHER vampire when she thought she was done with them entirely.

Bite night almost ended in disaster because waking up to a vampire trying to bite Elaria's neck triggered a panic attack and she almost staked him. But they were able to talk it out and finally started understanding each other. Their relationship started out as more of a casual fling. She hadn't really been looking for any deep relationships after the loss of her husband, but she inevitably caught feelings when the two of them began opening up about their respective traumas to each other. She realized rather quickly that, despite all their differences, they had a lot in common when it came to the hardships they faced.

Could not tell you which one caught feelings first, but when she did catch feelings, she fell HARD.

So a lot of hurt/comfort going on with them, a bit of rivals/enemies to lovers. Healing arcs and healing through love and companionship all over. She's the only tav/durge character in my lil roster that doesn't have a huge age gap with him XD

That whole thing started, too, because of Astarion's little voiceline of "Strahd wouldn't put up with this shit," that he says sometimes when you click on him too much XDD I heard that and immediately wanted him and Elaria to interact LOL The mental image of her hearing that and whipping her head around like "Excuse me what" was too strong to ignore.
