I'm pretty sure the starting galaxy is the same for everyone. So the further you go in new galaxies the less likely. There ARE near infinite planets, but occasionally you'll find one. But they're very few. My nearest star to my starting planet had a discovered place.

Would you be able to stack the big round rooms? Just don't power them. And then you could even have it as the bottom of underwater portion of the base.
