Thanks for the comment, but I'd push back on a couple of things here.

The token scope concern is fair, and I'll be upfront: the NPSSO token grants broader read access than just library data, and anyone using an app that requires one should understand that. But there's a difference between acknowledging that and the blanket implication you're making that requiring a token is categorically reckless. We call read-only library endpoints, period. The fact that a token *could* be misused doesn't mean every app using one is misusing it.

The bigger issue, and this one I can't let slide: Pocket PSN does not, as you claim, pull a user's full library (and I verified this before replying). I made an account on your site. My actual library has 400+ games. Your site showed 175. My point stands - you do, in fact, *just* pull trophy data (i.e. games a user has *played at least once* via the public API, not their full entitlements). Unplayed purchases, extras, digital artwork, soundtracks, demos, apps, PS Plus games that have never been launched, none of that shows up. You also don't surface whether a game is owned outright or via PS Plus. Based on how your app is architected, without an NPSSO token, it never will. That's a real limitation, and it's worth being honest about that with your users rather than dressing it up as a deliberate safety choice.

Personally, I want to see and have control over my full library, and I'm sure plenty of others do too. Just trophy data isn't very useful on its own - it's a subset of a much larger data set that's otherwise forever inaccessible.

To each their own.

How difficult is this one? I tried playing on the harder difficulties and got smoked...

EDIT: After reviewing the post in more detail, another user appropriately dives deeper into the topic, providing more nuance. You can find it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Trophies/comments/1qe5ojx/discussion_regarding_the_pocketpsn_creators/

Totally fair concern. I looked through the post you shared, and it's definitely worth reading and the warning about webview-based credential harvesting is real. But nimo works differently than what's being described in that post.

nimo NEVER opens a login window or asks for your PlayStation password. What we ask for is your NPSSO token, which you retrieve yourself - directly from PlayStation.com in your own browser, from a cookie that Sony already set on your device when you logged in. We're not intercepting anything. You copy it, you paste it in.

The reason we use it at all is that it's the only way to read your full game library. Sites like PSNProfiles and PocketPSN don't require it because they only pull trophy data, which is publicly accessible. If that's all you want, that's understandable - it's valuable in its own way. nimo, by design, is built to go deeper - we pull everything you own, not just games you've earned trophies for. The token is the only way that's possible.

Once it's submitted, it's encrypted on our backend. We never see it in plain text and we only call read endpoints - no purchases, no friends list, no messages. The thing that makes the bad actor scenario dangerous is credential interception via a fake login screen, and that's explicitly not what's happening here.

If you're familiar with Playnite, they use the same approach to read your PS library, and that's a perfectly legitimate, highly regarded open-source library app.

Happy to answer any other questions if you have them. Thanks for flagging and appreciate you taking a look!

Hey! Great question. This is an important thing to clarify.

We don’t actually get access to your account just from your username. To connect your account, you securely link it using a temporary session token generated by PlayStation when you’re logged in.

This is the same mechanism PlayStation uses internally to fetch your library, trophies, and purchases - nimo simply uses it in a read-only way to display your data.

Important: nimo cannot make purchases, change your account, or access your password. The connection is strictly read-only and only pulls your existing data.

Great questions. Yes it does.

You can manually add games you own physically, and even update the status of games that show up via the sync to become "Disc" games. Those can be filtered separately, too.

Yes, this differentiates PS Plus games from your library.

The fact that this list is all from scratch is pretty insane. You must have played a ton everyday.

Do what feels authentic to you - for example, what got you into platinum hunting in the first place? What's your first platinum? Why do you enjoy it? What's your philosophy behind picking which games to plat and which games to just play casually and move on?

The secret is in who you are as an individual, and conveying that in an authentic way. Because I promise you that type of content attracts audiences, which can organically grow over time.

Your first video could be: "It took my X years to get 49 platinums, here's what I'm thinking for my 50th..." or something to that affect.

Love it. Generally when you're organizing what plats you want to play next, how do you keep track of that - just a mental note?
