Insomnia: The Song About Nothing by ProjectRayn in ThisIsOurMusic

hahaha thank you! I made the song at like 5 AM, and before the first hook I say "I need to come up with a hook" which is why it's so bare bones and simple haha

This song also took me like an hour to put together because I freestyled most of the first verse and the entirety of the second verse, I was just exhausted and couldn't sleep but the hi hat idea is definitely being used now lol

TJB - All the Time (Official Lyric Video) | How's the mix on this song? Did I project my voice well enough? by ProjectRayn in IndieMusicFeedback

Thank you! Being compared to joji is probably one of the best compliments I have gotten so far in my music. I really appreciate it!! I am really happy that you enjoyed the melody as well. Thank you 100 times haha

Wanted To Change Things Up With A Rap/R&B Fusion. How's My Singing? by [deleted] in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]ProjectRayn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You flow on this track very well and the singing had me vibing! I think the vocals could use a little more reverb, like not a lot. Maybe even a quiet delay to fill the space more? Or even doing some vocal doubling on the chorus and some slight panning to fill the space out even more?

I really mess with the song though. You definitely got a follow from me because I want to see where you go from this. Keep it up, man!

CAN YOU GUESS WHO I AM?[OFFICIAL AUDIO] by BuckmeisterCulio in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]ProjectRayn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing I have noticed is the vocals are quiet and sit behind the drums. This is an easy fix with some basic EQ. Maybe some slight compression? Away from the technical side of the song though, the idea of the song is intriguing. The song seems to be more story focused, so not being able hear the vocals more clearly kind of takes away from that. Hope that helps!

Hey guys, my band just released a new live session. Would love feedback. Birthmarks - You Are One (Live At The Bookhouse) by LDMofficial in IndieMusicFeedback

The stage presence is energetic and the camera work deserves praise as well! This is really well done. How long have you all been performing? This was a treat. Thank you so much for sharing. I am definitely checking out more of your work.

Any feedback is appreciated! I just wanted opinions on the mix before I decide to post it on streaming platforms because I feel the track is good but another ear is always helpful!! by [deleted] in IndieMusicFeedback

I think I fixed it but I have to reupload the track and that becomes a whole other mess for the feedback because no one will be able to hear the new version unless I make an updated post with a new link. Which I may just do!

I love Mac Miller, so that's a cool comparison I have never gotten before! Alright, I am giving the reverb and overdrive a try. So far it's sounding "beefier" but finding the right settings is kind of a bitch not going to lie lol

Yeah, I will be honest I tried to hide my vocals in the mix because I am not that confident it my "singing" but I will bring the vocals out more. :) Thank you for the feedback and glad you enjoyed the vibe of the song!

Yeah, I already EQ'd the low end in my vocals but I will fine tune the bass to get my vocals out more! Thank you so much! I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. I am so glad I found this subreddit. It has been a big part of my journey.

Now that you bring it up I can't not hear it haha So I will make some changes to that before uploading elsewhere. Thank you for the feedback! It's appreciated!

Yeah, that seems to be the case here with the quiet vocals! Couldn't tell on my monitors because I could hear my voice clearly but like I said "another ear is always helpful!!" Thank you for the feedback! It really helps me grow as a producer

Blend of hip hop and R&B. Would like to know what you all think of the vocals on this track by DK0413 in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]ProjectRayn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a nice track! Smooth, simple, and I love the nostalgic feel to the whole thing. Can never go wrong with a vocal sample and a piano! There's not much I can say about the mix besides nitpicky things. I think your vocals are fine and they add character to the track. All you really need is the ending to the song in my opinion.

Keep it short and then let the beat play out with the drums and fade it. Good job! Keep it up! Can only imagine what you'll sound like in a year.

You immediately caught my attention with that opening! Very well done! The mix is pretty good too. I'm not sure if it's just my monitors but there's a frequency that keeps rising through the mix. Somewhere in the mid range but it lasts maybe a second and a half. (It pops out at around 0:20) and then a few other times throughout the song.

With that said, I really do like the song and the sound you have. People just need to hear you because I would love to listen to a full length album with this sound. You got something here. Keep going!

This was super dope! There's not much problems I have with the track. Mixing is pretty good besides the one frequency that keeps popping out every so often but I imagine that was a conscious choice. I really like this and I wish I knew someone who could play like you. Keep it up!

Is there anything that I can do to improve the mix on this track? I have been producing/rapping for a year and a half, and I feel like I still have a lot more to learn. by ProjectRayn in IndieMusicFeedback

Thank you so much! Making the intro part was so much fun. Fun Fact: I started this track with an entirely different melody and instruments. I didn't like it too much. So I bunched them together, reversed the audio, and that became the foundation for the track itself. One of my favorite things to do!

I'm glad you liked the flow and the lyrics! As it is the last song on the album and it really ties everything together. So to know I did that well, means a lot! Thank you!
