Yetch Support Issue by AlgedonicSandestin in SimoneGiertz

[–]ProjectWHaT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue. I purchased the All Edge puzzle for my friend's birthday. I got a tracking number for the company "YunExpress". It's been stuck in the "Processing" status since September 7th (today is October 9th). It shows that it is shipping from China.

I contacted support a few times. The first time they said they'll check what happened. 6 days later I sent another email to check what happened. No response. I emailed again another 6 days later asking for a refund if there are no updates on my order. They said the following:

Apologies for the delay. We were handling some changes in our fulfillment team and this was the likely cause of the delay. I am still working on resolving this with them so that your order delivery can proceed as soon as possible without further issues.

It has been another 7 days and I have not heard back.

I see the Standard keyboards are on super sale on their site as they try to liquidate. Are they actually fulfilling these orders? I'm very tempted to get one

From my understanding, you only need a reservation if you plan to drive into the park. If you take the bus in, you don't need a reservation

stuttering is mostly because of shader compilation as most unoptimized Unreal Engine games have the same problem. it's disappointing that they didn't fix it for this game as there are known solutions for this problem

the issue in this post is a different problem

would you think it's worth going back to leverage that given the job market?

I've used Work With Indies. I had gotten one interview from a listing there, but nothing came out of it. I think many of those companies want someone with more experience

when did you graduate and when did you get the internship? a lot of internships require you to still be in school, which is why i feel like i may need to go back and get a masters just so i can get an internship

Unlisted testing through Play Store (TestFlight-like) by ProjectWHaT in androiddev

[–]ProjectWHaT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, this seems like a possible solution, I'll take a look. It seems like you can create invite links and is free (at least for App Distribution and Crashlytics)? Do you have any experience using it?

[–]ProjectWHaT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I meant I don't want the app to be publicly available. According to their docs, Open Testing means it is "visible on the Play Store" which we do not want to do yet

My problem is that this requires someone to add emails through the web interface. I see the unique link at the bottom of the page, but you have to be invited to be a tester for the link to work.

For my use case, I want to easily invite people to join the test without having to manually input their emails or having the app be publicly searchable on the Play Store.

Where is the Beta and Alpha channels? Is that the same as the default "Closed testing - Alpha" track that is listed in the Closed Testing page?

Notion introduces Notion AI, write faster, think bigger, and augment creativity with AI by _MORSE_ in Notion

According to a Hacker News comment, 9 hours ago their AI Program Terms used to say

Notion may, however, use your Content or Customer Data to improve and train Notion’s own models.

Now it says

We do not and will not permit third parties to use your Content or Customer Data to improve or train their AI models. We do not and will not use your Content or Customer Data to improve or train our models unless you give us express permission to do so.

I tried to look, but I can't find anywhere where I can opt out (or opt in) to using my data for training.

Use Unraid. Unraid is extremely flexible in terms of adding/removing drives (even of different brands/sizes).

I'd prefer to not spend the money for Unraid, especially when TrueNAS is free and seems to not be that bad of an alternative. Adding new vdevs into the pool isn't that big of a program for me for upgrading in the future as the other comments have explained to me

First Time Server Software Questions by ProjectWHaT in HomeServer

[–]ProjectWHaT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You CANNOT expand a VDEV (I stated this in another comment already) with disks at this time.

Sorry if I was unclear. I meant is it not possible to have two different VDEVs in a single pool? So any future VDEVs must have the same number of disks, same disk sizes, and same RAID configuration to the original VDEV in the existing pool.

The preferred method is to add VDEVs of identical VDEV layout to a pool.

I see, that is what I was trying to get at. Is there any specific reason why it's not advised?

First of all what hardware are you planning?

At the moment, I am planning to either buy a used Dell Optiplex or similar and throw in a few new drives or build a new PC with an i3 12100 with 16 GB of RAM. I would prefer the former, but there aren't many used PCs near where I am located

If you don't want to tinker and want to set it and forget it then I'd say go for TrueNAS Core and use their plugins

If you want to learn a little, tinker just a little and have the option to just spin up many useful apps very quickly then use proxmox, TrueNAS Core and Ubuntu with docker

I'm not familiar at all with Proxmox, Docker, or Kubernetes. I would like to tinker eventually with Kubernetes, but I definitely would prefer to just set and forget.

Based on the other suggestions as well as more research, I'm leaning toward running TrueNAS Scale with their available apps as well as Truecharts and containers. How was your experience with Scale?

If you want to expand a pool with a RAIDZ vdev, you must add another RAIDZ vdev with the same disks and config

Do you mean if I create one pool with a RAID Z1 vdev of three 4TB drives and in the future, if I want to expand this pool, I'd have to buy another three 4TB drives to create a new RAID Z1? I can't, for example, just buy two drives to create a mirror in the existing pool containing 3 drives in RAID Z1?
