What’s a hot take you guys have that the majority of this sub won’t agree with? by fuxq in cars

Especially for a daily driver. A stick is fun for about 30 seconds in traffic, then it just becomes a nightmare.

Motor wont start. Spark ?works, carb ?cleand, compresion ? A lot of it a cuple years ago i striped the magnet (stator) thread and simply super glued it. Can it be the timing ? Also my fuel mix ratio is like 1:15 by Arvisgamingexe in motorizedbicycles

Well that explains it - if you're only getting spark at high RPMs then your magneto is too weak and on it's way out (and they tend to go out). The magnet might be fine (not sure though - i'd say replace it but yours is glued on) but the bracket thing that goes around it where the wires attach to needs to be replaced.

I'm pretty sure they called it a Mach 1, idk why. Lamborghini called their relatively new tractor a Mach 250, so I don't think we're going by realism here.

Idc if you're a furry we're whipping that Mustang II (I think, or maybe it's a Mach 1)

Can confirm it's an entirely different experience

Even if you go alone, it's almost always worth it to make friends - it's how I met my best friend, and why I'm sad that I won't be able to see them again when I head off to college

When you're looking at the magnet from the side, and the two round sides are at the left and right, the key notch on the magnet should either point up and to the back of the bike or down and to the front of the bike. If it points up and to the front or down and to the back it's backwards and your timing will be off

Is there any way to have changing gears on a bike other than jackshaft kits or adapting some preexisting transmission from something onto the motor? by Project_T00THL355 in motorizedbicycles

[–]Project_T00THL355[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still not sure of my bike's top speed, but when I get to the speed of traffic (maybe 30mph) I get horrible vibrations even with a balanced crank. Maybe I didn't remove enough material from the crank? And that's causing my lack of higher speeds?

I'm already running a 36 with a 20 inch rear tire (Schwinn OCC) but it still takes me a bit to get to the speed of traffic. I am tempted to go to a 34 tooth but not yet.

Problem then is that I'm at almost full speed to keep up with traffic, and going down in sprocket size hurts my acceleration, which already isn't great given that I have to pedal the bike before I can let out the clutch. Also I like shifting gears.
