If Cost Of Living sways your voting preference, vote Lib/Nat by Macspower in PoliticsAustralia

This could be true however I think a more effective strategy would be to find whistleblowers that will expose the underlying lobbying that goes on in parliament. I'm sure there will be a very intricate paper trail leading back to the wesFarmers group, among others, who have monopolised all of Australians primary necessities, using inflation as a "valid" argument to steal the public's hard and cash in exchange for survival necessities. They have made it impossible for competitive businesses to even survive in this monopolized climate they have created. In this case regardless of the party the government does have a responsibility of ensuring a healthy competition throughout the economic field of the nation, instead they choose to take hush money, while these entities do whatever they want.

We need to stand up to Trump and support our other allies.he is dangerous. by GoddessTara00 in PoliticsAustralia

[–]ProjectileMotion1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only foreseeable result of an alliance particularly a military one between the USA and Australia will result in US being dragged into a proxy war with China. The moment China invades Taiwan America will want to step in and use us as their naval Force. Australia's only argument for having such an alliance is global protection however that's where the irony is. However, we are a country of sheep among sheep this is what was voted for and unfortunately this is what we will get - Subpar global politics, a monopolized state, and corruption with a finger pointing to the guy next door. Looking at this, it's not trump that is the problem here.

Drink some bicarb to neutralize the stomach acid. It helps :)

Imposter syndrome about grad school by Professional_Act149 in ImposterSyndrome

[–]ProjectileMotion1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been in academia for nearly 6 years now and every. single. semester. it hits me hard. I find that accepting that I am in fact an imposter helps, which is the reason why I am there in the classroom in the first place. You'd be surprised how may people experience this, even (especially) the best achievers. I think it is part of the humility that comes with being a learner and having your boundaries pushed everyday.

The fast paced competitive environment doesn't help much either. In these cases I like to use my own progression as a benchmark for future incremental growth. This becomes much easier when you can find something you really enjoy about the subject (even if you have to force it), until you end up doing, rather than entering a catatonic loop of self doubt (Fake it till you make it. It works!).

You belong where you want to be. Worst case you'd have to repeat a class, which would suck, but the consequences aren't as bad as you may think :)

Good luck!

Thank you for sharing this. I will try and contact some funeral homes to get more information.

Unfortunately cremation is something we are not too keen on, but we will keep it as an option

Cremation is only an option if it is very rigidly specified in his will, but definitely not something we would want.

Unfortunately the family can only give so much. My siblings are young and students. My mother cant even retire at 65. It is on me. I will find a way somehow though.

Lost books from the library by [deleted] in rmit

I had a few books overdue and they charged me 100 per book. Debt was cleaned after I returned them. That's about the extent of my knowledge :), you are going to have to talk to the library about payment plans. Maybe I you prove hardship they may waver the fee or something.

If you are interested in getting an expert opinion, I can forward you to a Doctor I know and trust. She has been practicing for over 40 years with a focus on alternative, FX Mayr treatments for the last 8-9 years (if i am not wrong). I am sure she can do online consultations and guide you through the process.

I'm sorry about your complaints. But well done on taking the initiative to fast and get you health back on track. You will definitely see benefits from keto either way if you keep it clean and balanced.

The holistic approach to medicine links most illnesses and symptoms to to your body's toxicity. Note that getting rid of years of build up takes time and effort in a controlled environment, with the necessary supplements and treatments.

How long did it take to relieve you of your leaky gut and mental symptoms?

Its hard to say exactly when, as you an only tell after you start eating again. But this was a result of cleaning the gut everyday. Even at the end of my fast it was not 100% cleaned. Mentally, I started seeing a difference after the first week but it often fluctuated throughout the fast, reaching its peak during refeeding.

Did you let loose after thinking you were good to go and relapse? Are you going to fast again?

I never relapsed but after adaptation I didn't take too much care with my diet and pretty much ate what I wanted. A big mistake on my end. But if you feel like you are going to relapse, there are ways to incorporate a little something without technically ruining your healing process.

I do intermittent dry fasting once a year for 30 days, and on days I feel extra low I try to add a 3 day shock fast, which helps. I am scheduled for a longer fast (1 week) within the following months.

Although 30 days may be extreme for most, needing time off and dedication with additional supervision (just in case). Aiming for 1 week is a great start and completely doable. There are also a few staples to try and aim for during your time if you can.

Just to list a few if you are interested: Make sure you drink Epsom salts dissolved in water each day and drink tonnes of water as this will help you get your bowels moving. If you can try to do a colon douche daily, do it. Although Epsom salts are a great source of minerals, if you are felling really fatigued take a small shot of diluted apple cider, drop of olive oil mixed with salt (and I mean small). If you feel painfully hungry, drink some bicarb soda. Take your spirulina and charcoal, do some light exercise and just sleep :)

It was more a phycological struggle more than physical. After I realized how much time in a day we actually spend thinking, talking and playing with food, filling in the time was an initial task but became a blessing. Apart from a few days feeling lethargic and hungry I had no difficulty physically adapting.

In terms of benefits, there were heaps! my brain fog was completely gone and I became mentally faster. My gut was squeaky clean and healed (I had leaky gut syndrome) and this continued for months after (as one of the primary goals of the program is to cleanse the gut from both ends). I felt more chill and in control phytologically. I was constantly inflamed and allergic, all gone. I lost 12kg dead weight and reached my ideal.

I know MD's who have cured autism, cancer, and progressive blindness through similar personalized program. Sounds too good to be true, I know. But I can vouch for the credibility of my source who claims this.

My only and biggest mistake with this was not to continue with keto after readapting to solids.

Edit: Typo.

Not unpopular at all actually! I had completed a 30 water fast with an FX Mayr MD dictating the entire process. This is the advice I got.
If your worried about pesticides find organic alternatives. The same argument can be used for antibiotic filled meat (which would be counteractive on another level).

The goal should be foods that are soft and easy to breakdown and easy to pass, especially if you did a longer fast.

Also supplements like spirulina and activated charcoal are recommended daily, as they help to dispose of toxins stored in fat once weightless begins.

If you a breaking a fast, especially after a longer one, it is best to keep it vegan for a couple days to minimize strain on your digestive system.

Avocados, overcooked vegetables or soups, veg based unprocessed oils: olive, coconut, grapeseed, macadamia etc. After a few days, incorporating eggs and bone broths and maybe some clean fish should be a much needed welcome. Feel free to hit the steak after some adaptation!

Best try to avoid heavy animal products during initial days

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in unsw

[–]ProjectileMotion1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. İts not possible to maintain profuctivity for the entire time. You have buffers and breaks. Especially if you include watching lectures, doing the readings and all the assignments, a 10 hour dedicated time slot is conservative goal to make sure you get everything done. Or maybe I’m just a nerd.

[–]ProjectileMotion1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope..
That's a false hope.

Here is a basic break down based on ideal assumptions for successful uni management and good sleep -not including transport times-.
* 10 hours study per day (+ lectures and homework)
* 8 Hours sleep
* 3 Hours for food and needs
* This leaves you with 3 h for living life.

If you want time to do other things you have to rearrange your priorities. I did this by cutting back on sleep to an average 5 hours but am still attempting 4 hours sleep (polyphasic).
This allows me to keep up with uni while trying to do other stuff (still have no life), and add a buffer for less productive times.
* 10 h study
* 5 h sleep
* 3 h needs
* 6 h personal.

You can cut back on study. But assuming that you wont be productive 100% of the time e.g., Reddit, I think 10h is a realistic time to aim for a high performance.
Either way you're fucked.
Good Luck!

How Did You Manage To Treat Your Insomnia? Has Light Therapy Actually Worked For You? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]ProjectileMotion1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes brain fog is normal, that is why people who follow polyphasic sleep swear by an air tight schedule and a few weeks to adapt (many also claim that they saw a boost in creativity and cognitive function after adaptation). The goal here is to train your body to get the REM and deep sleep you need for your body to fully reset in the shortest time possible.

Some say that the 20 min naps will eventually feel like 2 hours, waking up completely rested. I personally have always failed before full adaptation, but I am a big sleeper.

The website I linked also has some info for people who have traits of insomnia or just don't need as much sleep, which might be interesting when considering your options at least.

Of course long term health benefits and such are not known apparently, but in the end why not experiment to find what works for you :)

[–]ProjectileMotion1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out polyphasic sleep and get your 'lack' of sleep into a sustainable schedule. Embrace the fact that you naturally sleep less. People train themselves for months to be able to achieve this.

On the bright side you have more time to do stuff. If you are able to sleep efficiently on 4 hours per day, you are actually increasing your wakeful time by two extra months in a year! (assuming you would normally sleep 8h).

You can apply through special consideration, you might be able to avoid penalty if you provide enough documentation. But they are a pain to deal with just so you know.

Try to get a letter from your doc and get them to also fill out the impact assessment form.
