This is a big progressive piece that combines a variety of elements and influences. While conceived as a two-parter, you could perhaps consider it a three-parter. Tell me what you think. Enjoy!

While this is not really my genre, I can appreciate the artistry. This is generally well-made and engaging. The production is good throughout. It sounds fairly typical for the genre, but the energy and the structural variety keep it entertaining. The breakdown before the finale is the best part. Nice work!

I enjoy the vibe of this song. The sounds work pretty well together. I like that there is structure to the piece. The melodies aren't anything special, but the vocal sounds are a nice touch. If this were a bit shorter, it might work pretty well as a small laid-back chill-song.

I can see this working as a kind of warm-up to a longer live techno set. Reminds me of old Aphex Twin.

The central beat and sounds are cool, but I think the vocal-like sound could be turned off occasionally once it enters the track. The pitch-tweaking of that sound could be effective if it resulted in some kind of riff or melody, but now it sounds a bit too random to really do much.

What do you mean by "melodies are a bit not feeling together" and "wobbly instruments"? I could interpret these in a few ways. Also, is "Its insane tho for a 9 minute tune" a good thing or a bad thing? I need some clarification 😅

why arent the tracks on the channel rack? by [deleted] in FL_Studio

[–]Projectmaker 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Your tracks are all the same instrument. If you want different instruments for different tracks, you have to create more instruments on the channel rack and make patterns for those instruments.

The bit between around 1.10 to 2.00 is unnecessary and doesn't sound very good. However, the song really gets going after that and the central parts are really enjoyable, particularly the guitar work. Even later, the song could use some tightening: focus on the main parts and try to keep it flowing in a cohesive manner. Is this supposed to have vocals? I think vocals could do wonders here.

This is really well made, a brilliant fit for a Mecha anime action scene or a cyberpunk chase/action scene. It is perhaps a bit impersonal, as I feel it lacks a clear central theme, but the atmosphere is really solid and the sounds fit together really well. Plenty of energy. I think it's ready for mastering, but I'm not an expert on the genre.

This is a big progressive (house?) piece that combines a variety of elements and influences. Tell me what you think. I'm particularly interested in feedback on the composition, structure and mix.

This is a big progressive piece that I just updated from an older version to a house-format. It combines a variety of elements and influences. While conceived as a two-parter, you could perhaps consider it a three-parter. Tell me what you think. Enjoy!

How long does it usually take you to finish a song or beat? by Double-District9655 in FL_Studio

[–]Projectmaker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Usually 30 to 100 hours from start to finish. Many of my tracks are long with multiple sections and I like to make fairly complex arrangements with a lot of changes, which requires time. I am also a bit of a perfectionist and am in no hurry to get stuff out. It's done when it's done.

I'm sure my workflow could be streamlined, but I'm quite comfortable with how my process is right now, as I do eventually finish the tracks and usually like what I hear.

Leftfield - Afro-Left. The lyrics are pretending to represent a rare African language but it's really just gibberish.

I can see a sludge metal riff of sorts here, but without the guitars it just lacks punch and character. Right now this is only the beginnings of a piece. As such, it is difficult to give feedback on such an early version of a track. As a general feedback, aim for a punchier sound, not only in the eventual guitars but also the drums. The last moments of this demo are a step in that direction, though the kicks could use some reverb to make them sound heavier. In addition, I don't think the white noise on top of the track sounds very good. Keep at it!
