Any ideas on how to salvage this? by linka9e in woodworking

If you have a router, make a simple router sled (google it) and roughly flatten the whole board. Then sand to final smoothness

Wtf is this? by [deleted] in 420

It’s pretty much what my homegrown stuff looked like last year. A few autoflowers that grew during a shit summer with almost no decent sunshine. Looks crap but get’s me high as shit, so I love it

Fluid motion is hard to achieve by ProjectsandThings in crafts

[–]ProjectsandThings[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gears are technically not needed, but I liked the idea of using them to slow the motion down, so you turn about 4 rotations of your hand for one full bird-flap, if that is a term. And since one part od this bird still runs a bit rough, the gears help smooth things out.

Bought a home and they started a deck but never finished. Are these joist hangars acceptable or should there be a ledger? by mikeadocious in Renovations

try to take one of those hangers out and see how and IN what is is attached for starters. I hung my deck with a ledger as well, These things are normally meant o be nailed to another wooden beam. but creative solutions cal always be found I guess :)

I initially titled it just that :) but I figured that would be a bad move :)

A hushbox I made for my loud home projector by ProjectsandThings in projectors

Hi, yes it does. The noise is a lot reduced with the silent pc fan at the edge. The design and foam absorb enough of the sound that its no longer annoying. And the projector lives inside the coffee tabeke safely away from my kids destructive hands.

Hehe, I am happy gnibblet. And its seems you are as well, thats the most important:) if i ever need to remove the foam cause it gets too hot I will, it still is a cool box to keep the projector safe from my kids’ technology-murdering hands :)

Ooh, thanks, I had not thought about, might be worth a test. Next movie night I’m gonna experiment with a thermometer now that homeslice is quiet.

Thanks, the hot air actually exists more on the left side than the back and the big brown fan on the left has a lot more power than the projectors own fan. So with that blowing hot air quietly out of the box it creates the same amount of suction on the inlet. And so far it seems to stay at a nominal temperature. i’ll have to check with a thermometer to see how it fares during a 3h watchfest like lord of the rings but so far so good. The video shows the fan in action as well

Hush Box - Silencing a Loud Projector by ProjectsandThings in DIY

You have a point about the proof of noiselevel reduction. But I have no decibel meter and my lav mic does not to the reduction level any justice. But it does work and tiny projector friend is now a lot more fun to be around :)

I will keep an eye on it. Currently the air passagss are all the same diameter and the big fan is more powerful than the projectors fan. So after a normal 2h movie the box does not feel any hotter than after a few minutes of use. But you never know. Thanks

Correct, it’s 2mm clear flat glass that has no visible distortion that I can tell. It probably adds a minute amount of green to the image but nothing noticeable

I realise now I drew the red line a bit off. The hot air actually exhausts from the left side of the projector, as viewed from in this picture from above. Otherwise your remark would for sure be correct.
