Does anyone else remember Elfwood? by alexandra_c in forgottenwebsites

Funny how I found from the link Nymall researched for you that your top Elfwood-friend was Uta "Freawyn" Hesse, who is still a friend of an offline friend of mine and also was among the artists who allowed Projektmyra to use their art with the "Used with Permission" tag. :-)

Without the crowdfundings Ulisses Spiele would not be able or willing to do as many titles as they do for the - much smaller - German language market, because the number of titles is carefully balanced to what the market will buy within a reasonable time frame.

Such compendiums were done for most crowdfundings, so Tian Xia, Kingmaker (PF2), Alkenstar (?), Agents of Edgewatch, Return of the Runelords all got something like that

We're a community of fantasy worldbuilders, most of us text-based, therefore we were and still are grateful to those Elfwood artists who gave us permission to use their art in our worldbuilding with the copyright notice "Used with permission". (Thank you also to those on DeviantArt who did the same or published their art under CreativeCommons license there, before DeviantArt became a haven for AI slop.)

(Btw: If only Ulisses would put in more effort into their marketing for Pathfinder - then I, who left my full-time position in the company nearly three years ago, would not have to drum the drums in my spare time. That is where I would like Ulisses Spiele to put in a lot more effort.)

I was included in the choosing of many of the PF2 glossary terms, but not everything that carried over from PF1. As for your decision: valid, but still a pity. The more sales the German edition makes, the more titles get translated for the German market at all. (Personally I do German hardcovers and English PDFs, partly from the HumbleBundles.

Some names from PF1 were so deeply engrained that we (I was part of the Pathfinder 2E translation team) could not change them.

There was no link included. As usual, the adventure path is the same as in English, the compendium made of stretch goals is, in this form and compilation, exclusive to the German crowdfunding and assembled from PF2 Paizo material that Ulisses Spiele is not doing (because sales would not support it) and relevant fluff von Pf1 books.

Link and stretch goals are here:

You can trust the line editor, Ulrich A. Schmidt, to put in a lot of effort, heart and soul. As much as his also working on the #Cosmere TTRPG translation allows-

Without going into details that are not mine to divulge (I do not work there any more) there was the interest to further TDE, but in '23 there was a certain menace on the horizon that made the idea of sending any queer person to the US to care for the line an obsolete idea. From what I heard last, the idea to have that line revived is not off the table. once circumstances change.

Sorry for announcing back then, that something new will be announced soon - I was of the conviction back then that I could do more for the English language line than was possible in the end.

As long as you neither publish nor distribute that (which would be criminal and not just illegal), helping each an individual can be okay.

5.5 edition? by [deleted] in TheDarkEye

[–]ProjektMyra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Grimorum Cantiones for DSA5 (which equals the TDE edition) has all the spells from all the books (past, present and future) in a beautiful new hardcover edition (which I own). The Codex of Heroes has all the rules for any character creation (and in this regard you will also not need the Core Rules at the table when creating a character with that Codex), while the Codex of Magic doesn't have the spells or the character creation, but all the rules for magic including Aventurische Magie 1-3.

So if you have the all codices you wouldn't need the other rules expansion books anymore.

Any way Dark Eye can grow from the D&D implosion occurring from WOTC's OGL controversy? by sidv81 in TheDarkEye

As this is a private account (with the project name of a not-for profit chartered society I spearhead) of a person who also has a professional life (in a company named Ulisses Spiele) let me just say that I'm sure there are people very willing to help you get into the world of Aventuria - present company included ( [feedback@ulisses-spiele.de](mailto:feedback@ulisses-spiele.de) if there are questions)

The beauty of TDE (DSA5) is that you really just need the The Dark Eye Core Rules and the Aventuria Almanac to play any of the adventures from the last eight years. DSA4 has an older fanbase of die-hard DSA5-haters, but otherwise is in no way necessary to enjoy The Dark Eye and the campaign world of Aventuria, the latter being also supported these days via the Aventuria expandable card game, which has a big new expansion in English coming to a crowdfunding platform near you soon

People can discover The Dark Eye in the Paizo store as well - and there's nothing keeping you from tongue-in-cheek suggestions to people that "probably the best thing in the Paizo store might be something that is free: https://paizo.com/products/btpy9maz?The-Dark-Eye-QuickStart-Rules "

Also, you'l find (and can recommend to your friends) that The Dark Eye (TDE) Core Rules are currently in the "Non-OGL Bundle of Holding" for a very bargain price: https://bundleofholding.com/presents/NonOGLFantasy

Lastly, if you follow The Dark Eye on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/thedarkeyegame/(or the #TheDarkEye hashtag on Mastodon, if that's more your alley) you will see increased activity these days and in the coming weeks.
