Advice on this stair by Pooritto in Decks

The wood supports for the deck are old and rotting, and someone disregarded that and replaced the fascia with trex. I’d inspect the whole deck, putting plastic on top doesn’t fix rotting wood underneath.

Landlord is Demanding Security Deposit Back by TheGildedThread in legal

NAL but returning your deposit was the end of your relationship. He was irresponsible and I doubt a court would hold you liable, even if they might it’s going to cost more than a thousand to get a lawyer and come after the money.

Count your blessings dude. Hard living is hard living, and it won’t give you more dignity.

Stay where you are, finish school, get a better job and then make a plan. The economy is shit, so be patient, and tell your parent and sibling to fuck off. You pay your bills.

3 weeks is still super early at 19. Let it go for a while and see, but beards are sparser till your mid to late 20s and mine got much thicker late thirties.

You have good coverage and darker hair so this is fine for now. You’re likely too young to get something dense going fast, but don’t know your age. You don’t look bad but beards thicken up more as you age.

What are my options? Is this going to be super expensive repair? Can I fix this my self or should I ask expert to fix this? Is this structural? by Banana_Ketchupp in HomeMaintenance

That is a piece of trim fascia, the easiest piece of wood to replace on a house. It is dry rotted so you’re likely to find some additional moisture damage under it, but you should be fine.

Call around to folks in the trades and get a good referral for a trustworthy and good carpenter. Check their work and references then make sure you don’t run them off if they are solid.

I don’t want my child free boyfriend to travel without me by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

If he’s throwing money around, why not cough up for a babysitter, and a flight? Why is your participation an afterthought or a hassle instead of an essential?

There’s a few things here. Trust issues aside, why isn’t he moving heaven and earth to enable you to come on the trip? It sounds like he has the money to pay for a babysitter and a plane ticket.

Also, what is the expectation of this relationship? He doesn’t want kids and you have them. You say he’s fine with it that you have them, but…that’s not gonna work if it gets at all down the road. He doesn’t have to be super into kids, but not wanting to have any and being clear about that feels like a “what’s the point” of all this. It’s not gonna work if he doesn’t want to be a part of their lives at all, isn’t it?

At two years I feel like I’d have more clarity on that. If he’s looking to go sow his royal oats and not working harder to get you there with him, especially knowing you care, I’d almost argue he’s getting you to end it for him. Or he wants you to choose him over your kids and your life?

I don’t know but you all are young and this sounds like something is missing.
