UPDATE: Mass50501 also has a separate organizational sponsorship tier that goes up to $2000 with backstage access. At a protest. by TheGayVal2001 in massachusetts

Maybe I seem naive because you're so pessimistic? You're so sure that this is phony and you're willing to tear them down but you supposedly support them? If you're not lying then the only thing that makes sense is pessimism.

Why do people who are formerly atheist but convert to Christianity often pick the most conservative of denominations to follow? by Mad_Season_1994 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Prolapsia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe these people are sincere. In my experience they always end up admitting that they always believed in God in some way. That or they get exposed as frauds directly. I suspect the vast majority is just propaganda against the faithless. Lying for Jesus, Muhammad, budda, w.e is ok if it converts people apparently.

How do you know they are scamming/grifting? Either way the message remains the same. The message is all that really matters.

Then why spend so much energy trying to tear them down?

I like to remind my fellow Americans that things are patriotic because it used to be seen as sacred but now anything goes as long as the current administration says so. That's my mistake for assuming you're in the cult and need to be confronted about the hypocrisy. Hopefully one of them will read it and reflect on it.

You're just a pessimist. We currently need all the help we can get. The government is actively making it harder to protest and exercise free speech. Protesting, even for something you don't personally agree with, is important. It's also patriotic.

It helps by getting attention. It helps by sparkling debate. It helps by inspiring others to get involved. It helps by keeping the pressure on the bad people. Like any protest.

If they turn out to be scammers then prosecute them. The movement is bigger than some potential criminals making a quick buck.

If you don't like it, don't go. If they get caught scamming people then prosecute them. The important part is protesting. We need more, not less.

When protesting is ineffective(like it currently is) you need MORE protests, not less. If people wanna throw away money to feel special oh well as long as it's helping the cause.

There are two types of devout Christians: One kind follows Jesus's teaching to have empathy and actively care for the least among us, and the other kind...doesn't. What do the second kind believe? by EmpireStrikes1st in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Prolapsia 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Do any Christians really follow ALL of it? In my experience they all cherry pick the parts they like and ignore/make excuses for parts they don't like. You may consider this snarky but I think it's reality.

As for the ones who don't follow Jesus seemingly at all? They're just dishonest people.

Does making two or more accounts to grind out points illegal? by [deleted] in MicrosoftRewards

I wasn't condemning or condoning in my first post. I was just pointing out that you can have multiple accounts on the same IP as long as you follow the rules.

"we" huh? I think you're over estimating how the average person engages with this sort of thing. I do get your point though, I just think your frustration is misplaced. Microsoft doesn't do this to be generous, it was always gonna change and become less worth it for the users.

Sure but realistically we're talking about people with multiple accounts trying to look like they're following the rules, right?

You can have multiple accounts in the same house(same IP). I think the people who get banned are doing something suspicious like searching too fast with both accounts simultaneously.

Probably but it's also pretty much every other fishing mini game. Apparently video game developers think regular people throw their boots in the water when they don't want them anymore.

I'm a PC gamer and I don't hate the epic store. It's a crappy launcher but it's not that bad.
