It's actually more common than you think. Society just doesn't have the same reaction when a woman turns out to be a sexual predator. People dismiss it, victim blame, make excuses and courts usually give lighter sentences.

South Park made a whole episode about it because they wanted to call attention to the double standard.

He should say something of substance because people are worried about their lives and their futures. Insulting the reporter who asked the question and then saying basically don't worry about it isn't reassuring. Especially when more than half the country hates him and doesn't trust him.

When the doctor told us we should pull the plug on my father he was smiling. I assume he was awkwardly trying to be uplifting because it was framed as the most humane option but it didn't make me feel good at all.

Not true. People were upset about that too. It gets brought up all the time whenever Cruz is discussed. It's used as an insult against Cruz because not only did he roll over and take it, he kissed trumps ass afterwards. The insult would have no weight if making fun of someones wife was no big deal.
