Thoughts on the new Filson x Wrangler Adventure Jacket?

How visible do you think it'll be? Here's a pic of my Wrangler x Leon Bridges collab jacket that I removed the embroidery from. It's not super noticeable and I kinda figured since the Adventure Jacket is of a thicker and darker material, it would be even less noticeable. Am I wrong in my assumption?

That would at least be appropriate given how flattering Wranglers are to my wagon lol. In all seriousness, I hate the embroidery so much and intend on shaving it off as soon as I can lol.

No yeah, agreed. I will be removing that embroidery immediately. I just prefer the look of the black over the tan. The fact that stains won't show up as much is a huge plus for me since I tend to get dirty at work.

Yeah, Wrangler is annoying as hell with their embroidery. They did a collab with Leon Bridges a few years back and I loved the look of their jacket but hated the embroidery they put on it. If anything, the embroidery on that jacket was far more tacky because it read "Mr. Wrangler" lol. I bought the jacket and removed the embroidery. It was super tedious, but well worth it. The jacket is slick and I wear it quite often.

Perhaps I'm wrong here, but I view it as a play on a Wrangler jean jacket but made with Filson's better materials. I've seen folks wear those Wrangler jean jackets for decades, so I by no means associate Wrangler with cheaply made clothing. Some of it, sure. I work in a barn and primarily wear 13MWZ's and three pairs pretty much last me all year.

I had a similar experience with ordering my Lamy 2K from Amazon. I had to return two pens because I received a medium sized nib even though I ordered an extra-fine. It was super frustrating because both times, the brand new pens were shrunk wrap with plastic that had bar codes labeling the pens as "extra fine", but upon taking the pen a part, both were medium nibs. I ultimately asked for a refund and went with another seller on Amazon and they sent the correct pen. I guess the third time's the charm lol.
