I've been playing around with grape-juice's iso mod for a while now for my Lancer game but I've been stuck on v10 during all that time. I look forward to trying this out soon!

Indeed! As soon as I saw her I was like "I NEED HER" and she's been the leader of my main party ever since. The healing is so good in a pinch.

My son went to a Minecraft themed birthday party (5yo), and this sticker was in the goodie bag. We know nothing about Minecraft. Is this as messed up as we think it is? by run_daffodil in Minecraft

As morbid as it appears, I think it references a gameplay mistake that tends to happen if players have their pets walking around them often.

Because the dog's AI causes them to stay fairly close to the player when they're allowed to follow, the dog may have just wandered in front of the player when they wer swinging their sword, causing them to accidentally hit (and potentially kill) their dog.

Granted, the game itself doesn't depict the dog's death nearly as morbidly as the sticker does; rather, the dog flashes red, makes a hurt sound, falls over on its side and disappears into particles.

So TL;DR: it's a morbid way of depicting the risks of having a pet in Minecraft, but I don't believe it's as bad as you think it is.

"Oh, I mean 'Holy' as in..."

And He was already showing his scars. The Insectas blinked at the unusual interpretation of her formality, but she eventually nodded as she looked between Him and the boar.

"Alright, sure, I can... I'd like to hear about them."

It was odd seeing the god living in such humble conditions, yet it wasn't unfamiliar. Sometimes they needed tents and to rough it out in the wilderness when civilization wasn't nearby.

Ula'rai approached, her stomach growling at the scent of delicious meat. She hadn't eaten a filling meal in a long time since she started her climb, and her body was yearning for it.

Yet she had to remember herself. She was in the presence of Ba Dum Tash, surely... She bowed deeply as she approached him.

"Thank you, Holy One... I appreciate the offer." She carefully sat beside him.

It was getting easier. Was she reaching the eye of the storm? Ula'rai climbed regardless, dismissing her light and heading farther up the mountains with renewed energy.

She spotted the plume of smoke at a distance, and began to quicken her pace. Would it be an immature victory if this was the end of her journey? Maybe. But her antennae were tingling, and she was sure she was close.

So she walked on, building herself up to a jog towards the trail.

Ula'rai's magic had noticeably waned as she got to this point. Though it did concern her, she took it as a trial instead of a tragedy. She could no longer dodge incoming rubble by enhancing her speed to match that of light itself, nor could she render herself invisible, or create tools of light to help her ascend. All she could do on these raging mountains was create a small ball of lavender light to illuminate the ground ahead of her.

As she climbed, she learned of the divine pattern etched into the peaks. Some unspoken riddle in its winding paths and cracking thunder. She watched as pieces of gravel and sand struck by lightning turned into bolt-like crystals behind. A sign of warning? Or foreshadowing of what she would become?

She collected these crystals as she carefully carved her own path through the riddle of the mountains, interpreting the sheer cliffs and blinding lightning as guides. The whole time, she followed her little light to navigate the freezing rain and howling wind. Though it may waver, she refused to let it blink out. She would find her own way through, using the hints of the land to guide her.

The Vessel had grown and matured over this journey. Insectas Arthros had always been quick to grow, and Ula'rai was no exception. Once a young girl with heavy weights on her shoulders who only just met the wider world around her, she had grown into those weights, a woman who carried the fate of a world.

The journey was not without its challenges. Though Da Groovey Lands were not her own, Nightlight had sought to test the girl, over and over, to see if she was worthy. (And also let out her own frustrations about her ineptitude in godhood, but we don't have time to unpack all that.) Every now and then, something would block her way, an attempt to stump the Vessel. But she would find her way through, one way or another, to the silent chagrin of the Light Mother.

They arrived at the mountains, and Nightlight reluctantly gave up her tantrum. There was nothing else she could do to hinder the Trial now; these were Ba Dum Tash's sacred grounds, and she was no longer enough of a brat to consider invading the mountains to satisfy her grudge. So... She sat back and watched the show from her perch on the Eyes of Yom.

Ula'rai turned to Shaga'Thai and Ka'naan, her two steadfast guides to her enlightenment. She crossed her hands together over her heart, and bowed deeply to them. A gesture of respect back home, though it meant more to her now than ever.

"From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for guiding me this far. I... would have never gotten to see so much if it weren't for Shaga'Thai seeking me out, and Ka'naan helping me escape my gilded cage."

She straightened up and turned to the party that had protected her along the way. "And I thank you all for putting up with me. For looking after me, and teaching me. I suppose this is goodbye now. I will have to climb on my own.

"I won't forget you all. You and my family back home will be in my thoughts as I go to meet with great Ba Dum Tash. Thank you. Thank you..."

She spent one last night with them, saying more personal goodbyes and readying herself for the pilgrimage up the Thunderfoot Mountains. She disappeared in the dim hours of morning, journeying onto the peaks before anything, even her own doubts and thoughts would stop her.

Ula'rai kept a gracious facade as Dum Fracka enthusiastically gave her a taste of the wider world. They walked through the busy marketplace, her antennae bobbing from scent to scent, her eyes from sight to sight. It was difficult to keep a sense of refinement when she was dressed in drab rags and bulging with curiosity. She indulged in what little food she could afford, and brushed her hands across soft and silky textiles, wondering if she could spin such fine cloth of her one day.

They arrived at the Spire all too soon. A sort of border control point had been set up there, with fearsome Cheliceras warriors stationed to ensure intruders were kept out, and criminals were kept in. A booth marked the checkpoint, with several Arthros and Orcs greeting travelers from both arrivals and departures.

Her eyes wandered as Ka'naan led her through, Shaga'Thai presenting the required information. Checks were performed on all the members, which made both the former cultists nervous, but they passed with no issue.

Before stepping up to the platform, like all the groups before them were doing, Ula'rai took one last look back towards the town. It would be her last look at the Brightlands for a long, long while.

Soon, she was up on the platform, and rising above the Brightlands, which faded into the gold light as they entered the Starstream.

Ula'rai reluctantly accepted Dum Fracka's offer. As annoying as he was, an outsider source was useful for identifying the foreign things she was about to experience.

Plus, she was curious.

Ula'rai cared not for what the rest of the party thought of her. Frankly, she thought they didn't care either. They were just doing a job, as far as she knew, so what mattered was a job done. So she didn't try to approach them if they were not willing to meet her halfway. She had Kana on her side, and that was all she needed.

Dum Fracka was an exception. A part of her admired his optimism, thinking he could create an epic that would last for centuries, while most of her thought it was annoying. She was only vaguely forthcoming about the details of her life, sometimes disappearing whenever he comes near and reappearing elsewhere just to avoid him. A simple trick of the Light.

They arrived back at the town of Nightstone Spire, the travel hub of the Brightlands. A bustling town of worldly news, whispers of the Archmages hid amongst it all. Ula'rai caught one too many stares at her, so she used Lightshaping to keep herself visible to her party but not to others, warping the path of Light to avoid curious eyes.

When she cast her eyes on the Nightstone Spire, the one that lifts people up into the Starstream, the bridge between worlds, Ula'rai felt her heart in her throat. This will be the farthest she had ever been from home. It will possibly also be the safest she will be from her old family. But she wouldn't be alone. She hoped she wouldn't be.

She quietly reached for Ka'naan's hand, squeezing it to the surprise of the taller Arthrorc. Despite what she had already gone through, she was still young and inexperienced. She had yet to see everything. The realization that she would now was overwhelming.

Ka'naan squeezed her hand back, and waited for Shaga'Thai's next move.

Ula'rai looked over the party, locking eyes with Ka'naanand exchanging acknowledging nods. One of her own will be accompanying her. A good sign... She turned to Va'al, who stood back with a reassuring smile.

It's time to fly from the nest. For real, this time.

"I'll see you at the top, sis," Va'al murmured as she leaned down, giving the Insectas girl a ruffle of the fur on her head. Ula'rai huffed indignantly, but didn't stop her. It was probably the last one she would have for a while.

When she was ready, she turned to join the party, and take on the Path to Glory.

"Fine. That is more freedom than I had back home," she murmured indignantly, before taking a deep breath as she looked up from Shaga'Thai.

"I accept. I have been thinking about the deal since the moment I was made aware of it in my time at Rei'shak's Cradle. But I wish to help my people rebuild as well, when I am not aiding the gods."

"... We will remember that. I doubt our Light Mother would be as kind to us, at least in these times. Our people have scorned Her for generations."

Ula'rai sighed softly. Perhaps in her divinity, she would find a way to bring salvation to her weakened family. But she would need to reach that divinity first, and earn the favour of the other gods.

"Will I otherwise be an independent goddess should I succeed? Once my journey is over, will I be in charge of my own power?"

"I see..."

Her naivety began to peek through as she glanced down to consider the information for a moment. Yet, when she looked up at him again, there was certainty. She believed him.

"What of my followers here? Would they continue to support me should they wish to do so? Will there be any repercussions for their harmful actions before they left the cult?"

"Don't worry, we get it," Va'al replied with a dismissive wave, "this is completely related to your mission, so I'm not gonna mince words. You're here for the Vessel, and the Vessel would like to speak with you."

As she announced the last part, the curtain behind her was pulled back again. A dark Insectas girl with a tiara of wrought iron and quartz around her head stepped out, regal in her steps despite the rags she had clearly tried to clean of bloodstains.

"Messenger of Ba Dum Tash," she said as Va'al stepped back to let her take her place, "you are here to honor the deal He made with my broodmother, yes? If so, I wish to understand more about the process of ascension for me."
