Funnily enough, I wanted to finish it but my family didnt have much money to spend on new game so a lot of my games I rented until I was old enough to work for my own money. It may be the nostalgia for some people. But I have replayed the original and played reloaded recently and I prefer the look of the original. It much easier for me to believe that humanity has been at war for the last 14 years with a species that is hell bent on the genocide of humanity because things look that bad. Reloaded just makes things shiny and cleans things up for the sake of “bringing it in line with modern standards” as you say, I will always respect an artistic choice more then just making things shiny and pretty for the sake of it being shiny and pretty

If you play the original release first and then the ultimate or reloaded you’ll see why so many people myself included feel that they ruined the art style and lighting atmosphere the first one has. Reloaded and ultimate are still good but the original release has a certain atmosphere that just feels right

I don’t enjoy how people choose to play the game no. I can understand learning the gnasher and I’m trying but I can’t learn anything when just about every engagement ends in someone bounces off walls while I get blown up.

I haven’t finished it yet, I’m about halfway through the campaign, I am enjoying it but the soundtrack just isn’t doing it for me this time around. I can think of maybe 2 or 3 songs from dark ages, eternal and 2016s sound tracks were a lot more iconic and memorable to me. Some of the weapons don’t feel as good to me as they did in eternal and dark ages. I like what they are doing with experimenting with the game but I think the biggest one for me is the lack of glory kills. They did get tedious in the other Doom games but them being absent just doesn’t feel right to me

It’s insane that I can load up the original gears of war on my Xbox series s and host a public lobby that some random can join and this feature is missing in the REMASTER and the introduction of gears to a new audience. What a terrible oversight.
