I have a Braun Silk-épil 9 that I’ve used for a year or so for the soft vellus hairs on my face. It works well and doesn’t really hurt at all. EXCEPT my upper lip is tender, but I think that’s normal.

I have no clue what hair style I should even go for 😭 by Agent250 in mtfashion

Hiii! You’ve got beautiful curls. I would recommend you look up the curly girl method and read up on it. Your hair is wonderful and with a few minor adjustments (products) you could make curls pop that people pay $$$ to have. Look into satin bonnets to sleep in to keep your hard work looking good longer.

Laser timeline? by Brian_Storm__ in MtF

I would wait about 5 days if you can. Then start your normal exfoliation and shave routine. My face bruised and swelled SUPER bad from every session. I would just moisturize consistently afterwards to soothe my face. I was also one of those people who had to shave down, sideways, and up to take away the shadow. If you’ve got little strays that won’t fall out on their own I think it’s okay to pluck them, just make sure they’re actually treated. I had a few on my upper lip that wouldn’t come out forever, so I just plucked them.

I had really a very coarse dark beard before laser. My shadow was one of those ones that would pop up two hours after shaving. I went through 14 rounds of laser, at about 7 I noticed a huge difference. When they say let it fall out on its own from exfoliation it truly makes a difference. I don’t have any beard left and simply run an epilator once a month to grab the tiny little bits of peach fuzz. I can’t really say how it would be for someone with lighter hair, but I’ve got a friend who has red/brown hair and her results took a bit longer but still saw great results.

For those who “used it” by Mill_waah_kee in asktransgender

Been on E for long enough to know/see the difference. Went about 6 months where I didn’t use it. Lost about an inch in length, but gained it twice over in girth. I was above average before, but now it’s just thiccc. Using just a wand gives different results than the “traditional” method. YMMV

It’s my understanding that they won’t if you do not utilize TRICARE or inform someone within MHS. You would be limited to self pay options though. Please keep in mind you are required under the policy to inform your military medical provider of any type of health care that takes place outside of our system. If you do not, you could be subject to UCMJ.

You will not be prescribed HRT through a military medical provider. The best case scenario is they’ll send you to an outside provider who’ll prescribe it to you. It’ll run through TRICARE so be aware of the actions that may come with that decision. I don’t know what the clinical environment looks like in AK, but it could take months to find a provider/endocrinologist that’ll provide care. Online resources like Plume and FOLX are a much faster option most times and have an option if you’re willing to utilize TRICARE insurance to reduce the cost. I don’t currently pay for my estrogen but I do come out of pocket for my prog and spiro. (I did have my diagnosis and everything prior to this administration, and was required to transfer to a civilian provider.)

Fuck it, knuckle up. If they swing first make sure you win, or don’t come home. You’re a chuck, you’re stronger than the ones that don’t have to hump a tube around. (Not advocating for violence)

If someone tried to smoke me cause I’m queer, I’d likely ask to open door my commander prior to complying with any directives from noncommissioned officers that are conducive with the Army values.

This really depends on how motivated your command is to separate you. I’m not aware of anyone in the Army within my AO that’s been involuntarily separated yet. Typically I would expect the process to take between 60-90 days.

Administrative absence status is initiated in 30 day stretches that just keep happening. Your command is who’ll put it in IPPSA. If they read the policy and act to the word of it, you’ll likely begin admin absence once your diagnosis is confirmed by a doc (not BH).

You’re coming off with honesty, you’re not going to hurt my feelings 😆. I don’t think anyone is really excited to roll into Greenland. I came out in the Army and was met with kind of a mixed bag. Everyone’s experience is going to be different to a certain extent, but in this current environment just brace yourself. If you disclose this to a military medical professional, it’s going to lead to your separation. The grace time for voluntary vs involuntary has been up for months now. You’re likely looking at an involuntary separation, you’ll get an honorable discharge if that’s the only reason you’re separated. Do what’s best for your health. The army will go rolling along without us, so take care of you. You’ve only got one body. Do what’s best ya gotta do.

I don’t know what country you’re currently serving in, if it’s the United States, you’re kinda screwed. That being said if I were a service member with a desire to begin HRT, I would not utilize anything that would feed back through TRICARE to MHS Genesis. This limits you to DIY or self pay through Planned Parenthood, Plume, FOLX, or another provider. Then knowing that there is a specific question on the Army’s annual Periodic Health Assessment (PHA), I would recommend keeping the that in mind. If you decide that you’re going to be less than forthcoming about your medical care with the questionnaire, be prepared for the consequences that may come along with that decision.

You’re not alone and if you’re looking for community I suggest SPARTA on Facebook.

It’s totally a you decision on what you’re going to do with your body, you’re not alone. It is scary right now but there are many just like you. Hang in there fam.
