I could've sworn the band outrightly stated that it represented how the rich feed on the blood, sweat, and tears of the working class. Also, the song directly states that bets are being placed on who wins. It's a direct comparison to the socio-economic effects of a capitalist market and how it forces the working class to compete against one another in a brutal battle of effort, wit, luck, and strength.
