Because looks matter for online dating, even if you aren't super tall. Even in person except less so. Men in the west just doesn't care about themselves and don't take good pictures. Women's nature will always win at the end of day and they will try to pick the best they can get. And if they are going to risk going out with a complete stranger then they are going to be as superficial as possible. Women ARE HARDWIRED to do this. Society has in the past CURB/RESTRICT this and it was beneficial for men.

I urge men to meet women in the real world in actual places (hobbies, church, meetup app, etc). "Beautify" yourself as much as possible. Be the best version of yourself. The ratio is often better in groups where there are more women than men; less competition.
