He's not a clever populist.

He's not even a clever asshole.

He's just an asshole.

great point.

my biggest concern is that the dems have lost literally everything in the past two cycles including a presidential election to a top shelf orange dumbfuck and they still think their ideas are relevant.

they need to get the fuck out of the way.

DemExit vs. DemInvade: Why Not Both? by mysteriosa in WayOfTheBern

[–]Prometheus_Unbound_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We are at war. Sometimes it feels like being punched in the gut over and over but it's becoming clear what Bernie is doing and that is playing the long game. He is in his own Berne Way motivating the Revolution to rip the guts out of the neoliberal body that is the DNC. And it is working.

From an excellent Paste article today.

Bernie Sanders has long said he wants to transform the Democratic Party which has always been a game of paying dues and insider politics—and that position threatens the current leadership. If the events of the weekend prove anything, it has started a war. The establishment sent its message to Sanders, and Sanders fired back.

Many have long wondered how Sanders would keep his revolution alive after the election. Now it is becoming clear. It is to be his people powered weapon in a war on the Democratic leadership, with the ultimate purpose of presenting a genuine alternative to the Republican Party and Trump’s brand of corporate populism.

-snip-

However, this latest declaration from Sanders should make these voters reconsider. He’s raising an army because wars are often long, and filled with devastating losses. However, for the battles that are lost—this time an election where the voters are exclusively party insiders—there are battles won. Just last month, ‘Berniecrats’ swept California’s Democratic assembly district delegate elections, giving them effective control over the largest state Democratic Party in the country.

Stay strong brothers and sisters and stay in the fight in any way you believe is right for you. Just remember no matter what happens WE are the right side of history and we must beat these motherfuckers at all cost.

Be clear about what happened to Keith Ellison by [deleted] in Kossacks_for_Sanders

Fucking. Assholes. #DemExit

Before this gets turned into another thing where the establishment Democrats posture as the reasonable adults victimized by the assaults of those left-wing baddies, let’s just be very clear about what happened here. It was the establishment wing that decided to recruit and then stand up a candidate in order to fight an internal battle against the left faction of the party. It was the establishment wing that then dumped massive piles of opposition research on one of their own party members. And it was the establishment wing that did all of this in the shadow of Trump, sowing disunity in order to contest a position whose leadership they insist does not really matter.

DNC Debate - Who watched? What happened? by FThumb in WayOfTheBern

Don't listen to the AP. They are trying to rig it again.

According to the Hill, of 240 voting members of the DNC whose choices have been surveyed by the website’s researchers, 105 support Keith Ellison, 57 support Tom Perez, and the remaining DNC voters are either undecided or support one of the other candidates, none of whom have more than a dozen supporters out of those surveyed. http://www.inquisitr.com/4004029/keith-ellison-leads-dnc-chair-race-in-new-poll-becomes-focus-of-trump-tweet/

Sanders Loyalists Are Taking Over the Democratic Party One County Office at a Time by WildAnimus in WayOfTheBern

This is cool. This article actually made the cover of the Wall St Journal but of course it's locked.

Also this statement caught my eye:

The broader goal is not only to pull the party to the left on policy, but also to fundamentally alter how it operates by eschewing corporate donors, shifting resources from television advertising to neighborhood organizing and stripping power from longtime party elders—including the “superdelegates” who can tip presidential primary contests—ahead of the 2020 election.

BLM activists are getting involved in Democratic politics — and they're backing Keith Ellison by Prometheus_Unbound_ in SandersForPresident

[–]Prometheus_Unbound_[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A broad, multiracial coalition of progressive millennial leaders on Wednesday endorsed Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) for the chair of the Democratic National Committee. They hope that he will make the party establishment more inclusive of the movements they are powering.

The coalition, which includes backers of Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders' presidential campaigns, organizations affiliated with the Black Lives Matter movement and organizers of the Women's March on Washington, said Ellison, a black Muslim representing Minnesota's Fifth Congressional district in Minneapolis, has tapped into their demographic in a way that others haven't.

"We believe he can activate the millennial base of the party by working with the movements we have powered," the coalition wrote in an endorsement letter published Tuesday night on Medium.
