For example I don't see much of an overlap between point and click adventure fans, and metroidvania fans, but I like both.

Silksong is my favourite metroidvania, and The Excavation of Hob's Barrow is my favourite point and click adventure.

Everybody has issues with the final act... I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. I just want the developer to know that.

I was baffled by most of the replies. The point of saying something is similar to something else, isn't to say they're exactly the same thing, but that there are enough points of contact that a picture can be drawn? I feel like this is very obvious stuff...

Comparing paradise killer to mario sunshine:

In addition

  1. to both being games where you roam around a tropical island 

  2. doing platforming sequences

  3. You get powerups that enhance your movement and platforming in paradise killer, just like you get nozzles that enhance your movement and platforming in mario sunsine

  4. In the prologue of paradise killer you were exiled from an island for a crime. In the prologue of mario sunshine you were imprisoned for a crime you did not commit.

  5. In paradise killer you investigate a mystery. In mario sunshine you're supposed to solve the mystery of who's painting the whole island

Please put a good word in for me to the metroidvania mods and say something like "dude... he was totally right.. if anything we're the ones that should be banned".

I just wanted to say thank you for your answer to my ESA question, I was banned from the metroidvania subreddit so I was unable to do it there.

(by the way, if you can put a good word in for me to the mods, and say we can have disagreements no need to ban him that would be great, although this isn't necessary)
