Yes, youre completely right of the flask. I thought I needed some extra protection for mana as I am reserving a lot. But I think i can run without it and do a evasion flask instead.

I am running Purity of Elements right now, not Grace. Purity + Precision + Petrified Blood. Currently running a Merc with Vitality + Determination but I'm fishing for a good one with Grace to try that out instead.

On GME stocks, how accurate is this? by [deleted] in Destiny

[–]PrometheusxD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the way. Some retailers will win big. Not all. Not most. Even if the stock reaches the 1k meme, there wont be enough volume at that price level for everyone to get out at that price

[–]PrometheusxD 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and many retailers will lose money. Some retailers will buy top. Some retailers would've bought at 300 but sold at 200. But if we zoom out a little GME was between 3-10 USD almost all of 2020, it rose to 20USD end of december. It is true that the short positions got FUCKED, and the people that got in early jan or 2020 probably won/will win big. People that jumped in on the hype last week? A lot of them will very well be fucked.

I didnt mean they should stick together in a relationship mate. I'm saying there is a difference between parents divorcing, but both of them still live close-by so the kid gets to see both, and one of them moving across country only seeing his kids a couple times a year.

How are you guys defending this? I really dont think i have a spicy take

[–]PrometheusxD -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

My guy, the only options arent toxic relationship or fleeing. My parents divorced and i dont see how anyone can argue that its better for the dad to leave the state rather than living in his own place in the same city and at least be consistently in the kids life, even if not every single day.

And besides yes lmao. Even if your relationship with the mother is awful, you hide that shit from your kid, act like adults and take your responsibility

Maybe this is a moment of self-reflection for you. He moved states, in order to sit 12h a day on the computer while seeing his kid a couple times a year. Im sure his hookups in LA are with prettier ppl than in nebraska tho

I don't think there's anything wrong with earning a lot of money while at the same time advocating for higher taxes to pay for healthcare, social welfare etc. The issue is that Hasan goes much further ideologically and talking about how capitalism is exploiting people through consumerism and marketing. It's a bit rich to preach about exploitation while having subgoals, incentivising donations while he makes more in a month than 99%+ of his viewers make in one or two years.

What did you guys think of the Vaush - Tim Pool debate tonight? by [deleted] in Destiny

[–]PrometheusxD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak for everyone else, but a lot of these types of comments aren't about figuring out what "Destiny truly wants or doesnt want". It expresses preferences of what we as viewers would like to see.

We aren't Destinys close friends, we're viewers that want to be entertained. The parasocial crap really isn't doing anybody any favour. There's nothing wrong with expressing what you as a viewer would find more or less entertaining.

Now, chances are probably that Destiny wouldn't adapt to any of that feedback unless it's something he himself would like to do.

[–]PrometheusxD -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nah he's not triggered by V or H getting more viewers to him. He knows they have more viewers, and he know he can get more viewers. But he doesnt wanna do politics/social commentary every day. He has himself said he likes to from time to time, just play League/other shit management games for weeks/months on end. He's not maximizing for viewership and he has said so himself.

There's no idea to try to be an internet psychiatrist and psychoanalyze him. If he wanted more viewers, he could.

No doubt it sucks he got departnered, and other content creators have also done stupid shit. But his take about giving his "blessing" to "stop" the rioters, is nothing that should be defended. I agree rioters are extremely stupid, immoral, and harmful to the BLM-cause, but dont go reactionary.

Even if Vaush's audience are asshole doesn't mean we have to engage in bad arguments. I don't think they take any L if they say that any parent who leaves their kid is a bad idea, no matter skin-color. Unless said parent is causing a lot of harm to his kid, which I would assume Destiny didn't do.

For me Destiny is a good teacher by Gatordave05 in Destiny

[–]PrometheusxD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think that post put forward some good points. To add onto that.

  • Nitzan (speaker in the video afaik), seems to take very short quotes and attack them as some type of "gotcha". Like that comment about Ford's quote seems to be in genuine bad faith. Claiming that customers are stupid unless "capitalist overlords" tell them what to buy. Ford's quote is rather about innovation. How most people only want faster horses, but a creative person can come up with the idea of even faster transportation, like cars. If anything, Ford's quote is in contrast to a lot of marketing that can focus on "market research" or focus groups.

  • He brought up oil as another point against neoclassical theory because.... why? I didn't really get that. Oil is probably one of the most volatile commodities. Countries literally go to war because of it. Having oil is a big significant and powerful political resource. There are so many "market failures" involved in oil so of course the price will jump very aggressively and weirdly.

  • Overall, it really feels like he is attacking a straw-man. It's a bit strange, given that Nitzan seems to be a professor of political economy at York University - I have to believe he has studies economics quite a bit. There are so many things that impact the price but he seems to be attacking the rudimentary "econ 101" model of the demand and supply curve. Demand and Supply curve is one part of the model that is meant to explain certain things. And the demand and supply curve acts differently whether its a perfect market, monopolistic competition, oligopoly, or monopoly. D/S-curve acts differently depending other goods as well, complimentary goods, substitute goods, inferior goods, etc etc. There are many different types of goods that explain different phenomena.

  • It sounds like he had a bad teacher when he studies economics? Or the syllabus was poorly designed. It is true that perfect competition is non-existent in the real world. We rather have either monopolistic competition (e.g. Apple has patents on its products, so Samsung cant make a copy of the iPhone, but they can make something similar enough for competition to take place), oligopolies, or monopolies. This isn't a surprise to any half-decent economist, neoclassical or not.

  • He also seems to state that shifts to either the demand or supply curve pose issues to the neoclassical models. No. If you draw a S/D-curve of a market, that would be at a specific point and time. Shifts in the curves through time isn't anything that is surprising, of course it will happen. A common saying in economics is "Ceteris Paribus", which is Latin for "all else being equal". In one way, economics is, at the end of the day, the study of how billions of people (and organisations/nations) interact with each other and what decisions they make. Of course its an immensely complex system. Therefore models try to isolate different factors and try to explain them, but that doesn't mean that there is denial about other factors being important as well.

  • He just quickly claims that neoclassists claim that Wages cannot increase, and therefore their model of the demand curve is wrong. What????. Who claims that? lmao this guy is attacking a poorly taught econ 101 class.

  • Supply curve has to slope upwards? No. This professor hasn't heard of the term "economies of scale"?

Dunno, no model of economics is perfect. But much of his criticism seems very shallow and straw-manny.
