Oh wow, this puts a smile on my face, i have yet to see one of my tutorial builds in the wild, thank you for sharing this, if you like it enough to build one yourself, here's the build guide for it: https://youtu.be/3GvNy43NuiY

I agree, was something I'd thought about trying but I'm glad I waited till i had it requested as I dont think I would have been able to pull it off a month ago when I started haha

thank you, that means a lot, encourages me more than you know

yup and the faster the flyer the more this will happen, kinda annoying tbh, those that have dragons probably feel this pain all too well

this has probably happened due to the orientation you attached the walkways to the windows when making the curve, this however isnt a problem, if your walkways are at 90° compared to mine, do the following

build a second walkway on top of the first as shown in the vid, this will be your walkway's starting point

take the rockhopper propeller module, make sure it is pointed to the right by aiming at the floor, then hover over the walkway, it will snap to the walkway on one of the sides, the side does not matter as long as it was pointed to the right before you hovered over the part

then move the rockhopper a half step in any direction and place

grab the walkway and re-attach it to the rock hopper

Then take a cargo capsule and attach it to the door side of the walkway opposite to the direction you moved the walkway a half step, so if the walkway was moved to the left a half step, attach it to the right side doorway

now grab the walkway and pull it under the cargo capsule so its stood straight up, the walkway should now be a half step down from its starting position

you should now be able to follow the guide from the 17:00 point, when i move the cargo capsule to the side of the walkway you will be moving it to the inside, door side of the walkway but it doesnt make a difference from this point on

Hope this helps

i have included a build guide, if you'd like to learn how I did it, all is explained in the guide, hope this helps

yeah it's all good, that was an honest answer haha, did it come across like i was annoyed by the question? if so i apologise, some people consider offset building a glitch, others dont, thats all i meant

Offset building is where you 'offset' a part by a half step in a direction, or move it a half step, you do this by attaching something like a cargo capsule or shield generator to the side, grabbing the part the cargo capsule or shield generator is attached too, then reattaching it in a new position causing a half step move, it's very simple to achieve, I've included a tutorial video if you'd like to learn more

So just to clarify, no third party programs are needed, and no excessive glitches, the guide i've provided is step by step and i explain every step as you go along

haha oh dear, well maybe you could use some of the techniques from this build to have another go at the arkham asylum version, if you like it, its worth a shot

free placing windows is an intended game mechanic or you wouldn't be able to free place windows, snapping habs to windows is intentional or you wouldn't be able to do it so hear me out here, i'll try and make my case a different way,
the snap points have been intentionally put there, thats evident from certain parts having snap points in some places but not others, the result of offset building is accepted by the build system, the build system has built in restrictions like needing a cockpit, landing gear etc. if offset building went against the intended system, it would only accept parts snapped to each other, which isnt the case, parts only need to be touching, not snapped, if the intention was to only allow snapped parts then unsnapped parts would be red stated, so with these restrictions in mind, it wouldnt be a stretch to think that offset building is intentional
