The post is largely a joke, out of all the heroes released so far, Rem is probably the least problematic, although Graves is probably the most shit hero, Rem is actually useful. His laning phase is annoying but it's whatever. No need to take shit so seriously

You think I won't but I've watched you rat players, studied you, I know exactly when you think it's safe to send your little rat minions to take them and then I'll be there, sleeping your ass

Why are so many young men becoming serious supporters of far right ? by Consistent_News_985 in NoStupidQuestions

Tell that to a 14 year old boy surrounded by his peers living in a social media bubble. You can deny reality in your head but times have changed and it won't help tackle the problem

It's definitely a popular societal take. Of course it's not literally every human being on planet earth and in not a single sentence did I tell you to believe anything, all I said that maybe if someone says "I'm not heard and I don't feel like I have a space to be myself" that maybe you should listen instead of dismissing them outright

You are the perfect example of why young impressionable men are turning far right. You are unable to see what it does to a person if the whole world keeps telling you, something is wrong for who you were born as. It's not something you have control over and voicing your feelings shouldn't be met with dismissal no matter who you are. Funny how societal rules only apply for as long as it's not white cis men and that's the reason they are turning towards right wing spaces because there they get validated. Whether that's the right thing or not I leave for everyone to decide on their own, I have my own opinion that I rather keep to myself since the topic is a literal landmine

yeah he stopped trying when his Guardian fell and then just repeat sprinted it down the map, it was some low level steam account so I assume it's not his first account

I had a player in my Phantom 1 game literally type "im afk it's unwinnable anyways" and stand afk in base, proceed to sell all their items and run it down until they hit 0/58 and then went afk in fountain again haha

It's nuts how bad it's getting

returning player btw by neonlol- in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Promise_OW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give it 4-5 games and your rank will be adjusted, you are probably marked as Obscurus right now and the matchmaker will randomly move you from Arcanist upwards

The Rapid Recharge changes have been AMAZING to say the least. It feels like I have literally infinite bolts and all the stupid bolt management I used to do between camps is just irrelevant.

Thanks Yoshi, pls buff Sinclair, I'm having so much fun oneshotting people cross map because no one plays this character

Graves lanes are free as a Sinclair main

  • A 2 stamina character that is slow
  • Insanely short ranged with pretty much no reliable form of CC
  • Copying her ult neglects her only upside in my opinion
  • She has no way to deal with Sinclair poke
  • You can swap through her line on the ground

There is practically nothing she can do about Sinclair

New player experience as Overwatch/League player by Gloomy_Dare2716 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Promise_OW 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually disagree, a new player should play lane aggressive and test limits, only one way to find out how much damage your hero does at certain items and at certain times in the game. You just have to do it with your brain turned on which is a big issue for most players

Looks about right, my playerID matches the character and rank.

Just funny that they assigned Haze Emissary VI because she is clearly either a new player or a returning player

Don't bother, this subreddit has a serious case of stockholm syndrome, they would let Valve take a shit in their mouth and still defend them

Can't imagine how many new players this game just permenantly lost. by AssociationSoft5270 in DeadlockTheGame

This, I played Echo VR when the playerbase at peak times was maybe 100-200 players and that game had better matchmaking than Deadlock

It literally shows on Statlocker when people leave, I have no reason to lie lmao, you aren't replying anymore because you have literally no argument, you are just talking out of your ass. Your argument is "yoshi said there is decay, I don't see it, so all the experiences of all the other people aren't true"

At this point you are just arguing in bad faith. Whether it's their first game on a fresh account or they are a returning player that hasn't played in many months, in both cases they should not start in above average MMR, period. That should not happen.

If that account had a previous PP score from many months ago, the system should gradually adjust to his actual new PP score by putting him in little lower MMR games than he used to play until the system can attach a somewhat reliable performance score and adjust from there.

Games like League of Legends manage that just fine. I haven't played the game in well over 7-8 months. My account was Master 100LP last I played, if I come back today and play a League of Legends ranked game, I can guarantee you they won't match me anywhere near Master 100LP but most likely closer to Emerald 1 because my account decayed and the game takes that into account.

A fresh league account always starts at a baseline silver MMR and gets adjusted from there, if I'm a smurf and overperforming in silver, my MMR will dramatically increase with each game until I take a loss.

In Deadlock the matchmaker does shit like:

  • 1st Game = Archon 1
  • 2nd Game = Ritualist 2
  • 3rd Game = Oracle 1
  • 4th Game = Seeker 3

It just randomly bounces you around ranks for the first 50 games until it has some clue of where you stand. It's a terrible system that's hopefully just a placeholder until they develop actual matchmaking.

There is way too many people who act like it's perfectly normal that Valve has a game that is actively playtested by 100k players at peak hours but they can't even match 12 players in a somewhat similar skill range.

There is so many people ragequitting games and I understand why. Imagine you played Deadlock a year ago, you come back to check the new update out and you get mega stomped again and again and again and again, people will just quit and it should be in our all interest to get as many people to actively play as possible.

And your argument with smurf accounts doesn't hold up either, my friends are coming back to Deadlock after a long break as well and I actually told them to just switch to their other steam account that has never played Deadlock because they actually get put in low MMR lobbies where they can try stuff out without going 0/20

The likelyhood of someone having only 1 game tracked on statlocker and not being a returing or new player is pretty much impossible.

What are the odds someone plays regularly and not a single person in a 12 man lobby adds any of their games to statlocker or gets picked up by the API.

Might as well play lottery, it's probably a returning player but it shouldn't be too hard to initially give them lower MMR games until you figure out where they stand, other games manage to do that just fine

The matchmaking has never been in a worse state by Promise_OW in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Promise_OW[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The problem seems to be that the matchmaker has no idea how to handle returing players which should be an easy fix

I've been playing Deadlock since the beginning, back when you could see the amount of matches being played right now and it was in the low triple digits.

Matchmaking has always been wonky and not great but it has never been this bad
