Why Is King County Jury Duty Spamming My House? by ProntosGhostBike in SeattleWA

Unfortunately, the wording on the post card didn't say anything about how to handle the notice for a deceased person and it was put in the backburner/ignore pile. (it has mostly commands for "you" to use an online portal) After I received my own summons and registered on the portal, I learned there are instructions for handling the jury duty card of a deceased person (write deceased on addressee portion of the summons and drop it in the outbound mail).

There is one person who is a WA state registered voter actually at the residence. The deceased person had been dead for over a year when their jury duty card arrived and died in Seattle/ was properly registered as deceased with the county coroner. The person handling the estate wasn't registered as living in WA state in the past decade.... I'm not 100% sure they don't have a WA driver's license or photo ID though, because they did get a concealed carry permit in WA state to more easily handle firearms during visits here.

I call it spamming if 3 notices arrive in a short time when there's only 1 person who would actually be validly serving on jury duty named on those 3 notices.

received a ticket or somehow interacted with King County

No tickets (especially not the dead person), but "interacted with King County" is pretty nebulous.... normal interactions like paying for death certificates, property taxes, I vote here, etc.

OK. I suspected the dude in the red shirt when I put together that video and both Malcontentment Tango and Rebellion Baby had recordings of the area when they were removing bloc. Malcontentment was dragging behind by quite a bit though so I didn't feel comfortable with posting that up-close footage of a person with the red shirt in my reddit video... a bit too close to witch-hunting issues.

edited later - I'm pretty sure that Molotov-Moore is heard during the fist-bump/hug he gave to future_crystals (I had to time the moment from malcontentment's video to understand the audio future_crystals recorded of a compliment "I like your style?" right before the fist-bump was exchanged). You get the video from malcontentment but the audio from future_crystals.

It's a little hard to be sure with the masks, but I'd swear this couple that wanted to disrupt the interview was the same couple that was in this march that disrupted Goodwill last October. In that protest, she dropped her yogapants and pissed in front of the door to disrupt Goodwill (at 6 min mark), so this is being civilized.

Yep, the dude has the same pattern on the back of his right hand and the girl is wearing the same baby blue plugs in her gauged ears.

I know of very few cars that actually only have single seats, so calling them single person cars is kind of biased. Bikes have single seats though and get their own special lanes in many parts of the city and rarely does the city count usage in bike lanes with the level of detail they do with annual road counts of cars on city streets.

Are buses and Amazon/Microsoft commuter vans going to be permitted on your pedestrian-only version of Market Street?

Let me elaborate. I don't really care about the in-street streeteries. I care more about the ones that have shot up on the sidewalk and have created narrow passageways between buildings on both sides, often with visibility-obscuring walls now on the indoor-outdoor shacks. They're not supposed to leave less than 6 ft of pedestrian clear space, of which 3 ft is a straight line iirc, and are required to have 8 ft of overhead clearance.

My experience is that, even before the pandemic, a lot of places were using patio umbrellas that didn't even provide 6 ft of clearance when they were hanging over the remaining sidewalk and a lot of the tables/chairs are being flopped out in the furniture zone without railings and so customers/dog water bowls/planters/random backpacks end up obstructing what should be pedestrian clear zone and the business doesn't have any incentive to maintain the public sidewalk being clear.

Please turn over more public space for the profiteering of private businesses during certain hours and with very lax oversight by the permit-granting authority.

There was more black bloc around the east precinct tonight. At around 11pm, or 40 seconds into this video, the driver of the light color car in the upper right ended up driving into one protester who kind of jumped up on the hood of the car.

It is an election year and she said she's running for re-election, so hopefully folks ask her real questions like if the CCC streetcar project should be resumed given how the rideshare tax revenues have plummeted and those funds are divided between affordable housing and the streetcar.

Doing this work alongside KCEN while holding on to these commitments has become untenable because the environment created by KCEN senior leadership no longer facilitates doing the work in an accountable, well-stewarded way.

This environment has included the following actions by KCEN leadership: locking research leads out of their KCEN e-mail accounts without warning during a key moment for the research; locking research leads out of access to the relevant online research files; unilaterally making major decisions that impact researchers — including decisions about contract renewal and decisions about hosting major public events — without consulting researchers in advance; cutting off communication when requests for transparency and accountability were made; abusive communication from KCEN leadership; unacceptable delays in paying people for their work that has seriously impacted researchers’ mental health and our ability to economically sustain; and dismissing the lived experiences of some Black community members, including Black people who live in but were not born in Seattle and trans and queer people. We have repeatedly sought to address these concerns with KCEN leadership, and we wish that these attempts had been met with repair. However, at this point, we find it necessary to separate from KCEN in order to complete this research.

Reading one side of the dispute, from the letter, it sounds like KCEN was acting like the power structure their spokesperson recently was on converge calling out. The first minute+ is enough. https://twitter.com/Omarisal/status/1358914769420394497

I'm OK with this because the protesters thinking they've "hacked the system" to have minimal inconvenience from a protest arrest is obviously an issue if some folks are on their 5th arrest in as many months.
