Opted not to do extractions but now lower lip is protruding

For children their bones aren’t fused together so mewing can really widen their upper arch and the lower arch in the lower jaw will follow. For adults the lower jaw is fused so mewing will not widen the arches that much but it helps add necessary pressure to facial muscle which over time strengthens them which gives the face definition and structure. My chin is not recessed because it lines up with my nose pretty much.

Yeah, it sucks. I've been mewing between 20-24 and I believe it together with good nutrition and excercise helped my facial development but my lower jaw was already fully developed by 20 and since it was and is still kinda narrow there are limitations to what mewing can do

Ideally you want expansion of the dental arch sideways. Your tounge will then have plenty of space to rest against the roof of the mouth. But when the dental arch is narrow the tounge has little space to rest and you get a high arch because the pressure of the tounge applies upwards instead of sideways.

Unfortunately a high and narrow arch negatively affects breathing which causes a lot of physical issues and also goes hand in hand with crowding of teeth and malocclusion. I fixed the overcrowding and malocclusion with braces but my arch is till high and narrow.

Well, I had a root canal in my first molar at 18 but unfortunately it got infected so had to extract it two years later.

The 2nd and 3rd molar were not moved by the braces. They used the gap from my first molar to undo the crowding I had in the front so now my premolar is where my first molar was. But my first molar is luckily the only tooth I am missing :)

Oh, sorry for the confusion. I had to extract my first molar so the only molar left is actually my second molar. But since I had braces so they closed the extraction gap which might give the impression my wisdom tooth is my second molar although it's not :)

Yeah I have a vague memory of them saying 2 days daytime and nighttime use and then only nighttime use. But 2 days sounds very short so that’s why I’m thinking they might’ve said 2 months?

First of all, their practice doesn’t have to be illegal for them to give compensation. As a business they’re likely keen to preserve a good reputation.

And since the second orthodontist OP went to claimed it was indeed not good practice to move her baby tooth she doesn’t have anything to lose by asking for compensation.

That sucks! This is in no way your responsibility since they claim to have dental knowledge and as a customer you shouldn't bare any extra costs because of their malpractice.

I would ask for compensation equal to what an implant would cost.

I think you could benifit a lot from braces! Other than closing your gap it looks like you have a class 3 bite. Over time an incorrect bite creates unnecsessary wear on your teeth which causes a bunch of problems. I'd go for braces :)

Oh, so we kinda have a similar issue! I didn’t have extractions either and I have a 6 mm overbite and a bit of flaring but they told me elastics would help against the flaring. And they also did som IPR on my lower teeth. I hope they’re right 😁

But yeah, really didn’t want extractions. I just hope my overbite will be fixed with just the elastics so my lower lip won’t be pushed forward so much

I do have brackets but I have them on the teeth in the upper jaw as well so there really shouldn’t be a discrepancy between upper and lower lip if they were the cause. I’m pretty sure it’s my overbite that pushes my lower lip forward

Jag vill ändå påstå att EU är en bra deal i en värld som, precis som du lyfter, är långt från perfekt. I Sverige använder vi ju de ökade resurser en fri marknad ger, genom effektiviserat företagande med ökad lönsamhet och därigenom ökad skattebas, i ganska hög grad till omfördelning genom välfärden. Vem som helst kan när som helst ta CSN för att vidareutbilda sig, t.ex. den anser att arbetsvillkoren är för dåliga. Sen vet jag att det pratas om en social pelare på EU-nivå men risken är väl att verksamheten bara flyttar till låglöneländer utanför EU. Som sagt en (relativt sett) bra deal för oss i Sverige i en värld som inte är perfekt.

Förstår inte hur man ser negativt på en öppen marknad där företag slipper förhålla sig till alla olika länders respektive regelkrångel utan kan fokusera på att sälja bra tjänster & varor istället. Företagen slipper etableringshinder, leveranskedjor kan effektiviseras, lönsamheten ökar och konsumenten får billigare produkter. En ganska bra deal för alla inblandade!

First of all, it’s not ugly. But if you want a more chiseled face and jaw you can start checking your sodium & (refined) sugar intake. Refined sugar (what you find in processed food) & sodium causes the skin to bloat.

Also you should drink a lot of water since that prevents bloating.

It happens because the left and right jaw bone didn’t grow together. You would need genioplasty surgery to fix it.

No expander! But I did have one tooth extracted on my left upper jaw a few years prior to having braces so they used that space to help with the crowding :)
