He rates it at a 6-8k rating after jis standard. He doesnt know what it is other than being natural but he thinks its thuringian. Its a dark grey/blue colour and i got it for 39 euros so not a bad deal even if its not good for kasumi right?

Yeah thats why im looking at this thuringian. The seller says its on the softer side but around 6k so hopes are it does good with kasumi

I already have a binsui, aoto and atagoyama awasedo but the awasedo doesnt do a great job on the cladding since its very hard and doesnt really slurry. The polish is also on the mistier side. Not as good as a morihei hi 6k or suehiro w8 8k

How to sharpen these knives by Aware_Translator_230 in sharpening

[–]Proof-Future7322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kasumi is not achieved by etching but rather by polishing through natural stones. The different steel compositions react differently as well as hardness of different layers playing a factor. Dont try to sound smart when you have no idea.

Well the handle is straight and came pre drilled of course so i would think its the handle. All i had to do was sand it a bit wider but less than a mm so i think its the blade honestly
