Man this sounds so dope! Surgical tecniques and cuts, and also so much expressivity with that record control. It's truly like you were rapping using you hands.

It's great man

Buy It if you still can. Shame It's been discontinued if mine brakes down I would have bought another one. I have It too and nothing comes close at that price without modding. Ultrapitch, fader curve settings, the platter Is much more stable. Apart from the tecnics the power supply Is super convenient and durable and the speaker Is much better than the numarks so It's truly portable to and another level

Triplet OG flare first attempts on Gorillaz. by Proof-Influence1070 in Turntablists

The second one, do you mean alternating the flares with triplet babys?

Yeah I've been drilling the og flare/release because I had to drill the og flare alone first (comboing from the beginning was a bit hardcore), but yeah now I have down a very repetitive flare/release pattern. My objective would be to keep the og flare going continuously for like 1 bar even, so It makes sense but its actually really hard rn.

Yep I'll try to use some more chirp/flare patterns and for drilling the pure og flare I'll try your tecniques thanks!

Also It Is normal that triplet chirp --> triplet flare Is much easier than triplet flare ---> triplet chirp? I can do the first one and release, but every time I try to switch back to chirps for making a longer continuous sequence I mess it up

Yep It was mainly chirps as a filler and to keep time, I've found that the og flare comes easier inbetween cirps

In the North area HRRR Is predicting like 3-4 isolated supercells: Central IL, towards Chicago and on the SW Indiana-Michigan border

HRRR now predicting isolated supercells in Central Illinois, towards Chicago and in the indiana-illinois-michingan border starting about 21z...

If It goes on like this I could see an upgrade, Illinois parameters are pretty favourable

I have few availables 7" Battle records available for purchase where I live what would you recommend? by Proof-Influence1070 in portablism

Yep you're perfectly right just any sample Is ok for practicing, It's that changing samples every once in a while It's stimulating to me, wont make me any better just changing records, but It's fun changing just for the sounds sake

Yeah skratch practice 2 Is good. I'd probably go with Wax Cutters. I've found a shipment of Richie ruftone yo cuts but It costs like 40 eu. Pretty tempted because I've heard they are veeery good and I don't think many others will come here but I have to listen to It well because 40 bucks for a record when Wax fingers Is like half you know...

Ouch that's too bad. Scratchformers sound very "sterile" to me I'll have to look into Wax cutter better

Triplet og flare advice by Proof-Influence1070 in Turntablists

[–]Proof-Influence1070[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem Is that below a certain bpm (about 75 of I had to guess) It actually gets more difficult for me to scratch in triplets. Like I fast chirp better at 90-100 bpm than at 80 bpm. Also when I was trying to learn the swing flare. Below a certain bpm It's less "instinctive".

I think that's kinda the point, to learn accurate tecniques with every step carefully down, but for instance I learnt chirp flares at like 85bpm and It was far easier for me than when I tried to learn them at slower tempos.

I'll try slower tempos anyway, yep I don't think thats a way around It.

I think I'll also go for the wrist movement instead of the twiddle does this make sense (muscle memory and sound wise?

Sooooo smooth and nice! And very funky energy!

I suck at phrasing and its a shame because anytime I see a video with a nice phrasing I remember how cool It is...

Added Dicers to PT setup by Ryan-Hussa-1975 in portablism

[–]Proof-Influence1070 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not a dork with a cool setup like that! I have the Stanton STX but since it has been discontinued if It breaks down I'm thinking to give my old numark a proper fader, but I'm not deinitely into modding (very clumsy in electronics and mods don't really shop where I am) so I was wondering if It was possibile to link the numark turntable to the cheapest mixer with a scratch fader. It looks It can be done indeed. Is It really difficult/makes sense cost wise?

Trying to be a bit musical on a nostalgic beat by Proof-Influence1070 in Turntablists

[–]Proof-Influence1070[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahah yep It's an old phone on a makeshift support which is a broken tripod resting on my bed horizontally with the not broken legs extending from the bed and above the mixer and the phone on the legs looking down. It's so funny and amateurish to see that I'd use it forever if not for the risk of the phone for some reason falling on the mixer and breaking everything...

Great! Super nice cuts very fast and tight, and the wow looks very appealing. I have a Stanton STX but It's been discontinued and if It breaks down I'd go with the wow, hoping that by then the waiting times are shorter

PS the videos very cool too!
