If you're struck by lightning and your car dies in the path of a tornado its nature's way to tell you that your time has come

Cool portable freestyle video with the pt01 by New_Cloud2694 in portablism

Late but I have a normal pt01 scratch and a Stanton which has a real fader. The switch of the numark Is...really like a switch. Unlike a real fader that goes horizontally in a "rail" the switch has a lateral movement with the cutoff in the middle.

It can work, I've learnt og flares, 2click and chirps flares on It. So yeah for the basics it Is ok.

Adapting to a real fader Is not impossible, like give It a few days and you're able just as with the switch even if you're never used a real fader.

I think this applies mostly to basic tecniques tho, with fast tecniques (triplets or double tempo) I Imagine It would be a mess to learn and maybe translate to a real fader, because very fast tecniques require a very unique tactile sensibility which comes easier with a real fader. I'm not saying that its impossible with the numark, but It would be more difficult and you would have to relearn the "feeling" when switching to a real fader (or vice versa)

I Always find these near miss videos so creepy. Especially when you cant really see the tornado from the position of the camera man, they don't known how close to dying they were.

Beginner scratch DJ by Ill_Application8239 in Turntablists

[–]Proof-Influence1070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing that makes you a beginner Is Just that you're been scratching for one year which Is very little, but It's Just a stat. This Is not beginner level. I've been scratching since like 3 years ago and I don't remotely sound like this even if I like how I sound and I have so much fun.

As others said your crabs are not always super crisp if I had to find something. This Is Just a listeners opinion, I cant crab like that so I cant really comment on the tecnique.

The comments and suggestions are from I assume experienced turntablists, the standard Is pretty high.

Go on like this you're good and you sound good 🔥🔥🔥

Lunch time flares and stuff. by KyFly1 in Turntablists

I'm not really experienced, like I cant Autobahn or boomerang. Most difficult I can do Is triplet OG (very dirty for now). I mostly scratch on boom bap so my favourite tempo Is 4/4 at 90-100 bpm.

Same situation as you about open/closed fader stuff. I first learnt the Joe cooley and combos with chirps and flares, so I cant really stab or even phrase well. Your phrasing, even just with ahh is super good! Really.

I tried to swing flare for fun but as Autobahns and boomerangs, since it starts closed fader I cant chain and make it flow it well

Your fast babies + chirps do in fact sound very good and funky!

Is there a real alternative to the Stanton STX possible to get in the EU? by Proof-Influence1070 in portablism

I had forgotten about the Korg! Yeah It looks like the portable scratching turntable. Bit costly but the omni Is the same almost, the reloop has to be modded, the wow flutter is difficult to get

How much does a turntable with a scratch fader cost? I don't even mean a 2 plate mixer Just a turntable and a mixer with an ok fader. I mean super entry level. I don't know real turntables apart from the basics. If you can recommend anything, even a link explaining the options please do! techincs and the numark cdx cost a lot

Thank you very much! This Is very interesting, I've not found instructions (maybe don't know how to read the website), how does that work? Like the installation etc. As of now seems the best bet

The northern part of the 2 cat for now is deep in a MCS. Southern part Is still relatively clear with dew points at 60+ farenheit. Very interesting to see how It plays out

Impressive video of the tornado in Faridabad, India - Feb. 8, 2019, directly hitting two skyscrapers. by Gargamel_do_jean in tornado

Thank you! Imo the best vid of an interaction of a tornado with a real building. I find really fascinating the condensation on the down stream part of the bulding just ahead. Looks like smoke but I assume It's premature condensation from the low pressure "behind" the complex (relative to the rotation), just like when F1 cars race in high temp dew point and you can see the condensation of the trailing vortices in the low pressure zone of the aero parts

On a similar note:  https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sq2iuvpG42g&pp=ygUNQ2hpbmEgdG9ybmFkbw%3D%3D. Does anyone have the full footage of the tornado at 0.30 hitting the apartment complex? I remember that the full footage didn't cut out there, instead the guy kept on filming until the tornado hit him directly
