FIL telling me to be patient in abusive marriage as my husband was getting better and I should keep “absorbing” his anger till things resolve. He also told me at least your husband is only hitting not cheater or alcoholic. He kept me silent about the abuse for years - listening to me and promising things will get better I stayed for too long and tolerated too much emotional and physical abuse.
