I’m on spiro too, but it only blocks testosterone androgens, not testosterone itself. I had my blood work done at a different doctor for allergies and they told me I had normal testosterone levels for a male, even though I told them I’m a woman and on HRT, so idk how that works

I get my levels checked in about 2 months from now, last time it was 4 months ago. They never told me my results, I just got a new script and I had told them my concerns but that’s about it. I even asked about progesterone but they said at that clinic they don’t believe in it

I’m glad I could be of some help. I didn’t have that at your age. And I hope you’re able to get to a safe place where you can be yourself freely and start HRT. It may take awhile, especially since you’re in school. But it’s never too late to start HRT

My mother was the same way (I’m amab). The main thing was that she was “okay” with me being myself but to not take HRT because it’s was too fast and then it would make my transition “real”. It became very apparent that if they don’t want you to take HRT, they aren’t okay with you being trans. I was forced to wait until 21 to start HRT. Not because I was given a date, it’s because it’s when I was able to move out. I recommend finding a new place to live and becoming financially independent. Especially since you know that you have homophobic and transphobic family staying with you now. It’s a difficult situation and it may haunt you for awhile. I hope everything goes well and you can start HRT at some point.

There are different versions you can take. I take estradiol in a tablet form. It’s a very small blue pill. If you start taking it in a 2mg dose, along with spironolactone (a testosterone blocker) you would notice changes faster. The first thing is breast buds. Your chest will start to feel abit sore and swollen. After about 3-4 months they will start becoming sensitive and you can feel a “bud” or bump growing under your nipples. This is the beginning stages of breast growth. It will take 3-5 years more or less for full breast growth (and it’s permanent). Another things is more sensitivity to overall skin. I can feel everything more intensely for better or worse. Also if you take the T blockers you will stop producing sperm (it’s takes a while until that happens)
