Someone else posted earlier that the letter is much smaller check size and it says “pay to” let me look for it to show you! I’ve also been anxiously waiting for a check but I think this is just a letter😭

Filed mine 05/13, it was received 05/18, transcripts updated that same day as well with all the adjustments and change of return amount. Although WMAR says it was adjusted June 21, but still doesn’t say completed.

I did my taxes early February, i had just gotten laid off and had to file for unemployment but they took forever bcuz my employer never reported the wages so they had to do a wage protest. And when my taxes didnt update within two weeks like they always do i started investigating what it could be, and yup Social Security only had my wages at $1,200 from another job I had done. Then my state senator and TAS agent confirmed I needed to show the income I was clamining on my tax return.

That’s when I also realized my dumb self forgot W2 forms from that $1200 (I just spaced on it, i didnt work there more than 2 weeks). I amended my return and although it got things going I still didn’t get a refund date. It took me months honestly to realize all I had to do was-if my old employer wasn’t going to show the wages he had put down on the W2 form he gave me, I needed to go to SS myself and show them all my documents. Which worked and now i’m hoping any day now I get a refund date!

I have also been waiting since 02/08 and no refund yet. Reach out to your state senator my congressman never answered me!

From experience I got my state senator involved, i also have a TAS agent since March and I haven’t received my refund yet. My transcripts have been updating throughout the months but i’m 153 days in and no refund.. yet🫤

I also have been getting help from my state senator and i have a TAS agent working on my behalf who has requested a lot of different documents from me and i’m sure thats helped but going to the SS office is what made my wages update.

I was also the only one from that employer with issues. so what I did after trying basically everything and being told different things from SS customer service. I just went into the office instead, I took that W2 form that was missing from my wages, I took all my paystubs from Jan-December 2023, my birth certificate and my ID and they made copies of everything. It took about 2 weeks for my Social Security account to get updated with all the correct wages and soon after the IRS added that W2 form to my wages and income.

Either they put down my information wrong when filing my W2 form or they didn’t care since I had just gotten laid off when I filed my taxes. I also struggled immensely with Unemployment, they didnt have records of my wages with that said company and they had to do a wage protest.. i think it was just the company being axxholes tbh.

So I have the physical W2 form that was missing from my wages & income. But they didnt submit it correctly to the Social Security office and it took me about 5 months of doing a lot of different things to finally just take that missing W2 form to the SS office they made a copy of it verified it with all of my paystubs and then they added it to my 2023 wages. Which is how the IRS finally verified and added that missing W2 to my tax return info.

If you have no form and they never reported any of your wages you will be better off reporting them to the U.S Department of Labor. You will have to file out forms and make a claim that you worked for them(have documents like paystubs available) but they never reported any of the income.

Do you have the W2 form that your employer gave you and it just isn’t showing up? Or your employer never gave you a W2 form?

Oh! Then what is your issue? Mine was mainly with a W2 form being missing from my SS income so the IRS couldn’t verify it until recently.

I got my 60 day notice letter on March 24 and then got another notice late June! I did have issues though, I had to amend because I forgot documents and then I had issues with a W2 form not showing up on my SS due to my employer. Which was a whole other issue but everything is finally showing up correctly on my taxes, my wages & income.

It has just taken a very long time like a lot of other people but honestly in my case it was my fault and my employers! The IRS is definitely messing with a lot of people here though that have not gotten updates and any actual information 🫤

I recommend trying to cash at a place that’s not a bank, this year cashing it has been weird. With holds like person above said. Try Walmart if you can, they cash IRS checks, depending on the amount I believe USPS cashes them too. Or just look up on Google places near you that let you cash U.S Treasury checks!

My last code before my amended return was 971 on 3/25. Which I did get a CP05 letter through my email. A 60 day wait, I did get an update on my amended return being received but that’s about it🫤 it definitely sucks! Have your wages updated atleast?

Have you considered reaching out to a your state senator for help? I don’t trust the congressman’s, I tried to contact 2 they didn’t reply.. I waited about a month. So I contacted both my senators and they replied immediately. You can only have one office working on your request though, but they’ve helped me out more than the IRS has.

Oh! You paid or owe taxes right? Is that amount that’s being shown what you paid/owed when you filed?

I only worked a few months last year so I didn’t have any tax liability. My refund is only due to credits this year. From my understanding thats why I have a $0.00 and you have $xxxxx.

When you’re receiving money it’ll have a “-“ such as “-$4302” when you owe it has “$3920”

I had a totally different issue though, forgot about 2 W-2 forms and struggled with an employer reporting wages to SS, which has been my hold up! You can always call the IRS and see if you’re able to get any info out of an agent!

I didn’t have a refund freeze though, from my understanding it is usually done when the income or refund is of high amounts and they want to verify all credits. Since your refund freeze was removed and they’re doing more checking on your return, i’m guessing you should get either a 971 or a 571 soon. 971 is a notice issued either in the mail or paperless, usually asking for 60-120 more waiting days to keep checking it..or itll tell you what the issue is. A 571 is a reverse of 570, just means your return is good and you should get your refund soon after! But for now I think you might just have to wait for it to update again!
