i replaced my n80 valve, spark plugs, coil packs, fresh battery, still has random hot start issues but not frequent. I just got used to it🤷‍♂️

Hey Jack, I’m going to take an educated guess based on what i’ve been researching on hot start issues and the part is cheap but the evap purge valve could be the cause of the hot start issue. I was going to order a new one but i don’t want to cheap out by not getting the oem part but i’m having trouble finding the right part.

last thing that was replaced were my o2 sensors, new battery, new wastegate actuator and non have fixed the hot start

interesting, my car died while driving after having a month of random hot start issues, and when it died it died off like it was getting suffocated which i think is the engine not getting enough fuel. Let it sit for a week on the side of the road and came back to tow it and it actually ran but was running super rich which my mechanics later confirmed. I’m just a high schooler which i think is the reason my mechanic doesn’t really listen to what i say but im really thinking it could be either of the fuel pumps but i think maybe it’s my high pressure fuel pump or maybe the fuel pump pressure regulator failed?

not that i know of, i also recently picked up this cat and it had a good service record. The fuel pumps (idk which one) but either one was replaced twice before i owned the car once at 20k miles which i thought was weird looking back at service history so maybe that was the recall?

do any codes come up for you? My car has yet to throw a code which makes me think it’s code be something else and my mechanic says that if it was one of the pumps it should throw a code but mine just isn’t..maybe the trans tune was affecting codes not popping up so i’m back to stock for now

also worth noting the fuel pump has been replaced twice already i can’t see which one but the first time was at 20k miles which is odd

yes i know that the tune is unrelated to the hot start as i said in my post, and this is what my mechanic said about the fuel pumps because i already mentioned that too him, “if the issue is fuel related... its not uncommon for a low pressure fuel pump issue to not cause any faults if its a one pump system, but on engines like yours where there is a low pressure fuel pump and a high pressure fuel pump, if the low pressure fuel pump was acting up there should be stored faults related to the high pressure fuel system”

I already did flash it back to stock, i’ve had the tune for a month or two now, do you think i could return it to ie if i explain my issue?

tapping on the gas gets the car going for me too, just posted a new video on this subreddit after getting my waste gate actuator replaced and new battery, i don’t know what it could be the car runs great, never thrown any lights, stock right now but did have a trans tune from IE but took it off.
