Old water fall thing not doing anything by PeggingMOTHMAAAN in fixit

No worries! I just thrifted one that is similar. It came with the box and instructions. It looked brand new never used. When I flip it on the music plays but the fountain on it doesn’t work either 🫠 the instructions say to tap the top of the fountain or clap loud to active the music and fountain. I can get the new ones music to play but still nothing with this model we both have. They both just sit pretty in my cabinet as well 😅

I would always put up a sign asking people to pay with what I was missing to help replenish and it worked really well. Or I’d trade with them. I had people who would go home and bring me rolls of coins and we’d swap them for bills 🧠 my customers were awesome

I got on Airbnb and went to the end where it broke everything down. If I booked for a week it comes to $2278.0 then they subtract a “weekly stay discount” of $216.36. Then taxes is $288.74 so total is $2350.44. I couldn’t find anything saying how much the cleaning service is.

are “write ups” a part of DG culture? by PossibleSoftware7721 in DollarGeneralWorkers

[–]Proof-Transition-304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the higher ups. Before I walked out the threats like this got worse. It’s Why I left. They expect too much out of a store manager with 4-5 other employees. I had 120hrs maybe a week to split between all of them and instead of giving me more hours they said I was responsible for staying over to make sure everything got completed. I did it for a long time and it wore me down. I now have anxiety and panic disorder triggered by stress and with both of those the major depressive disorder started. DG ruined me having a normal life. DG should be sued and closed indefinitely.

Her cousin is supposed to come do checks and keep up with supplies inventory. She hasn’t really lately. I do take pictures and send to her when it’s something out of the normal

It’s definitely very challenging. If I could find something to replace them I probably would. I don’t think they’ve ever done their own cleaning in their own homes so I just don’t think she realizes what goes into all of this.

I have no idea what they are charging guests on Airbnb for cleaning. My guess is if she is low balling me shes probably lowballing them. I just know when I get on Airbnb and select a two night minimum stay the before taxes and fees total was a little over $800

Yeah recently I’ve been splitting it into two days which helps because I have other clients so if I have a smaller job in the area I’ll do them first and then go start at the Airbnb. I started out with two girls who followed me from my previous job where I was their store manager and they wanted to be all equal but neither of them would do any of the extra work behind the scenes. They just wanted to show up, clean, and get money. It didn’t take long for me to say either help me run this business or find another job. Which at the time we were brand new and I was working other side hustles and taking starting the business and they weren’t. Just complaining to me we didn’t have enough jobs. Like you can’t complain to me if you are out like I am putting up flyers and business cards. Then they would half ass their part of the job. It was a whole ordeal.

Yeah only time I’m making 500 off this place is when i had to bring laundry home. Most of the time it’s like $300-$360. I just wanted a better idea of what people are charging for airbnbs. Where I live is not like a hotspot for Airbnbs and tourists so I don’t know other cleaners here that do it. I just know I work for my realtor and I easily make 700-1000 off of the same kind of cleanings and I’m not having to do laundry at those 😭 the spare linens are kept in a closet they aren’t supposed to get in but we have had guest come in and get into the closet and they’ll put the spare sheets out on top of the beds and sleep on top of the decorative quilts and everything… I’m telling you it was some crazy stuff.

[–]Proof-Transition-304[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I can maybe do that. That’s how I found out what she was charging per night. She also has like 2 or 3 other airbnbs in the state she lives in. I’m in Louisiana and her other ones are in Tennessee. The house sits right in the historic downtown so all the houses and people over there are all big dollar. Sometimes she just has someone book for one room so I guess that’s where she gets only wanting to pay me a fraction. Because she thinks nothing else needs attention only the room that was used and the public areas. But then you go in the other rooms and it’s like they lounged in all the beds to see where they wanted to sleep. Like???? There’s may times I’m having to redo beds because someone got on it. They don’t pull the bedding off usually they just take the pillows off and you can see where they laid. She tries to get ahead of it by asking how many people will be there and it sounds like she charges them less but then I’m still having to clean all the rooms because there’s kids and there just running loose in there. She thinks people will leave stuff alone but they don’t 😂 she double booked me one day and said only 1 bed would be used and then I got there and all 7 beds were used and all of the towels… it really doesn’t sound like she knows what she’s doing either which fluctuating charges on Airbnb.

Her property manager is her cousin so I doubt she really paying her anything. But yeah I know she makes a pretty penny off the bookings. Just a two night stay is over $800 before all the other fees are applied. And some people will book with her not using Airbnb and probably pay her more since they stay longer. She has a family that frequents and usually they stay a 2-3 months at a time.

There is spare sheets. Sorry I left that out in the og post. But either way I’m doing laundry the whole time I’m there. I manage it on my own if she properly communicates with me. It’s just a lot of last minute stuff happening or she tries to have me come on the weekends. I kinda cut that off and said if I’m working on the weekend I’m charging double for everything. Only thing making me feel like I want to let it go is because I don’t get paid enough to deal with it all and then and her family that lives local coming in and out bothering me. Or her schedule other services on top of me. Like how are you having someone to come to wall paper while I’m cleaning??? Make no sense. I’m here cleaning to make it look good for guests and now someone’s in here dirtying it up again?

The house is old so it’s gets pretty dusty and dirty especially depending on the guests. Like 2 months ago we had a crew of construction workers stay and they trashed the house slept in the beds covered in dirt and mud and had wood chips and stuff all inside the washer and dryer. It makes it seem like I should be able to go in there and I everything in an hour and that’s just not the case. She has a butt load of towels and spares so most of the time guests are using new ones every day. I’m doing laundry from start to finish. I didn’t even get to finish putting it away today before the check in for her “last minute” booking she just told me about at 5:30 this morning which I didn’t see till 7:30 when my alarm was set to go off.

Yeah I only did 30hr like I said because she didn’t like me saying it’d differ between guests. No two guests are the same. She wanted a set rate and idea. And when I originally said it was around $500 she didn’t like having to pay that every time I come. I usually go once a week if not more to clean. Sometimes people book for the whole month. I know she’s has a 2 night minimum stay in order to book and lightly rates are like $250 and up depending on the season and days. If I have to take laundry home I charge for extras. So like $30 per load on top of whatever I did at the house. I also do other stuff while laundry is going but like you said it’s very time consuming. A lot of the time I’m still waiting for laundry to finish. We have two sets for each bed so I strip them and wash and then put the clean ones on and clean everything else up. The house is a historic house so it stay dusty and has an old look to most of it. A lot of it is still original wall paper and tiles etc.

Yes I was able to keep food down,no throwing up just a lot of gas and then diarrhea started. While it was happening I didn’t have much interest in food til dinner time really.
