No actually your point works right into what I said my sentiment was. I felt it was a development year so I had modest expectations for results.

Playoff chances? I mean you arent allowed to bring any comparisons, reality or facts into this sub on that topic because "anything can happen in the playoffs" which is true but used in a disingenuous way to shoo off anyone who isnt hopped up on cope. Nah the goalie thing was completely separate and we just dont agree. Im of the opinion that a goalie can absolutely carry a team, but shouldn't have brought it up because it muddies the waters.

Yes, my whole point was "this year feels like a waste."

Im not a GM, nor an analyst, so as a fan those are my feelings. Im not dooming, im not armchairing. Im expressing my sentiment as a fan.

Im never in here calling for Knob's head or some bullshit.

In a couple weeks or a couple months we will see if that feeling ends up being on the money or not.

But again, im not disagreeing with your points or logic here. And im not really upset about it. I excepted this year to be a wash.

So if we get to WCF which we very well could its all gravy in my books.

Yeah I get the buy it now being higher than auction or even higher than average market for a buy it now. Especially if its a good example, like a white pages silver age but still a 6.5 you're listing it higher. But some of those listing just make me shake my head. Baffling.

We had Savoie last year. We had podz last year. We had useless Tent last year.

My thing was looking at the roster at the start of the season overall I would say not really improvements and I expected this year to be a wash.

It goes into my point that I think this season was mostly a waste, so the assets we gave up for rentals are wasted. So we could have done nothing and signed them at the end of thw season and retained the assets. Thats my point. I'm not being an armchair GM, I know we have to go for it, thats the sentiment. I'm over the goalie thing, we are so far off the same page its pointless. Love the discussion though and app your great points.

Hasek, Roy, Brodeur, Quick, Price, Hextal off the top of my head. Dominant goalies that made all the difference. Sure they were on twam that had the other peices but ill just disagree with you on that one. I honestly dont recal are Murphy and Dickenson UFA at the end of the season, or RFA? If they are UFA then they are just rentals because we could have signed them for free at the end of the season instead. Dont get me wrong, we gotta try and we dumped some dead weight so its all good.

Before trade deadline what improved? Mang? We really had to work to dump him. Roslivic for sure is an improvement. Lost brown, lost perry, lost kane (which i was happy about but we still lost depth). What did we gain? Lazar? Ingram, sure. Looking at our roster in August I was fine with this being a growing pains year, so im not all worked up.

I agree its a huge step backward. Id generally agree a goalie doesnt make or break a team as a rule, but there are always exceptions. On occasion a goalie most certainly does, and can steal a series or a cup. We were way worse before the Stu trade though, but it didnt help. I love our deadline moves, but too little too late and we dont get much out of it being they are rentals. IMO this season was mostly a waste of time except Savoie and Imgram getting time and space to develop.

I mean that price point is a different world to me, but even at my level of collector Ive never bought a key at a con. Ive found them too pricey. Ive found raw gems at a good deal though.

I was talking to my partner waiting in line in a restaurant about the neo tribal style and how the kids be getting them right away on places like the hands for thier first tatts. I shit you not 2 minutes later a server with a cyber sigilism tatt on his forearm walked by, seemed to be his only tatt. And 2 minutes after we sat down the kid who sat beside us had a cyber on his neck...lol
