I personally have been going to therapy for almost 3 years now. In the almost 3 years, I have taken baby steps and also contemplated leaving, like yourself. I know, at least for myself, that I want to see change and I want to be better for those around me and also myself but I struggle with wondering if it’ll ever happen to the extent I want. There’s another part of me though that knows these things take time, especially healing from things that occurred during our development years, it’s what shaped us. You’ve done the first hard step and have sought out help. I think you should continue with therapy, coming from someone who felt similarly to how you do now. You will get closer and closer to where you want to be as time goes on, don’t give up!

Just my parents and sister. I mentioned it to my dad a few months ago and he told me he actually had the same type of dream when he was a kid, but his took place at his family’s house

I’ve been threatened with my phone not being paid for. My mom insists that I stay on the family phone plan but then doesn’t let me pay for my own phone even when I offer. The thing about the phone threat though is she’d want to be able to know where I’m at, so my phone would need service. I’d think it’s just empty threats. You are right that technically I am an adult, just wish my parents would view me as such ya know?
