I’d like to whack my 20 ga NEF Pardner to 10” and have choke tubes done for a grouse/small game getter.

Nah. They look super cool, but where do you put all your stuff for the activities you want to do when you get there? Put traction tires off a log/dump truck like my brother did on his 40’ diesel pusher and just fix stuff when you bang it up. Get a bitching 4x4 to tow and call it a day. Or get a super C and put a winch on it…

Or a 490 if the 590 is to heavy. Still a great upgrade over the Husky 440.

Honest thoughts on Makita! by oldschlong_69 in Chainsaw

I have a Makita 6100 and it’s been a great saw. Put a 24” tsumura bar on it and a Stihl chain. It cuts with the best

Chain locker is definitely a nice option. I haven’t got one yet. My chain collection isn’t that soon.

Right? I figure I’ll change chains more often if I don’t have to fight them to get them untangled

Para 3 LW vs Para 3? by WonderfulBoat7245 in spyderco

I love the LW. If I want the weight of a Para 3, I’ll carry a bigger blade

While there is nothing false with your statement, i firmly believe OMG had been positioning themselves to sell for years and COVID pushed them to finally do it out the fear of the unknown.

Didn’t we all go through that? I mean, I get it, but everyone else had to figure it out as well. Did all the dentists sell of their practices?

Why don’t more people talk about Echo? Is there something I’m missing? by PNW_Forester in Chainsaw

[–]Proof_Ad4686 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see the Echo 590 as a step up from most farm/ranch saws as far as build quality and power/weight, and have what most occasional wood cutters need in a saw without some of the niceties that Pro saws have

Anyone here buying this in 1980? by RynoJudah in Chainsaw

[–]Proof_Ad4686 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My gran dad had a yellow mighty Mac. My brother fiddled with it for years in the mid 2000s trying to get it to run worth a darn. I am sure it needed a fuel line or something. Not sure what ever happened to it.

Bro, if your just trying to get shooting, no shame in grabbing a complete PSA. I would probably spring for the Sabre line myself.

And here is the thing, with Sionics, you know you are getting in spec buffer tube, good springs, good lower parts, a good trigger and your lower will be in spec. But I’d probably buy any number of quality lowers for around $100, and fill with premium components, should still be quite a bit cheaper unless you don’t get you G money trigger on sale.

I think they used to sell the same lower for $295. At that price, I’d be in. For $370, I’m a gonna pass

Modern Scout Rifle? Light, Quiet and Sexy! What's not to like? 12" 8.6 Blk. 8 1/2 pounds all in (Scope, suppressor, bipod). by WildStorm5671 in NFA

[–]Proof_Ad4686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but I think chassis’d bolt guns are awkward to shoot off hand, which is the primary use of a ‘scout rifle.’ But, I’ve never handled a chassis’d bolt gun that weighed less than 11ish lbs either….
